Funny the trend in comments, at first everyones competing to love thursday most then slowly emo hate creeps in over time. I reckon this is about gang violence. Of course all of america is fanatically christian which may explain faith being split (because both sides are "with god") and maybe the singer knows someone who was killed in gang violence in NY? Good song anyhoo. Whys so many people on here decide to get angry bout these things like bands people like? |

That essay was really good. This is one of NOFXs best songs, it is very emotional so in that way it is emo, but what the fucks wrong with that anyway, emo has some awesome lyrics, just as political as any punk song. I always thought of this as a mother commiting suicide leaving her daughter, but the idea of her bad parenting is also likely. After all parenting does shape us as people. I think NOFXs serious songs are mostly better than the others, though Bob kicks arse! |
