you've got this song all wrong. It's not about a guy that's sorry and wants to reconcile. It's more about someone who's realizes that he is indeed emotionally numb but is moving on. He's hid it well but its came to light and thats why they're fighting with each other. It's like that final fight before a break up where you finally realize that things weren't as good as you thought they were. " Looking back at me I see That I never really got it right I never stopped to think of you I'm always wrapped up in Things I cannnot win'" he's basically saying that nothing was ever right and he's not going to change who he is to try and keep the relationship together. It's essentially a song about breaking up. |
