It is definitly about a stalker case in Tyler Tx. The Toadies base in Dallas where Tyler is and Possum Kingdom lake is nearby. Talking about "we can drive to anyplace, day or night across the state" means he will follow her anywhere she tries to hide; and of course in the warped mind of a stalker he doesn't even fathom that she could not want him even when he says "I hear the fear in her voice." The Pixies while a gigantic"no pun" influence in the guitar and drum style don't have anything to do with this song. "Where is my mind" is about a drug trip. |

| Concrete Blonde – I Don't Need a Hero Lyrics

this is about how people affect you in the most intimate and overpowering ways, the loss of that relationship and how empty and changed life is because of the loss. Reminds me of a college love that I thought would never die. She actually told me many times that she worshipped me in everyway. A few months later, it paled compared the way "the ways of love have been abused"
You have to love johnette. |

| Concrete Blonde – Tomorrow, Wendy (Andy Prieboy cover) Lyrics

It is about the loss of innocence and life no matter the reasons. It is about the loss of youth(life)and the way we feel about God in the equation. It reeks of athiest beliefs in their youth but the fact that it acknowledges God belies the nature of Wendy's anger she even acknowledges Gods sacrifice of Jesus. The last thing this song is about is being an athiest. It is one of the most haunting songs either artist has done. Napolitano sings Wendy's lines in Prieboy's version. |

This was a song Johnette did with an early version of Concrete Blonde called Dream 6, the album(yes it was that long ago)was never released in the US. However the song appeared in the soundtrack of a terrible movie called "The Party Animal" the only saving grace of the movie was the soundtrack that included this song, along with the Buzzcocks, REM, the fleshtones, and Dream 6. |
