| Muse – United States of Eurasia/Collateral Damage Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Matt Bellamy discussed this song in a recent interview with Zane Lowe. "United States of Eurasia" refers to a book called "The Grand Chessboard" by a man called Zbigniew Brzezinski, a former United States National Security Advisor. In the book, Brzezinski claims that if the countries of Europe and Asia were to ever unify into a super-continent, the USA would no longer be the dominant world superpower and there would be a massive war. The United States of Eurasia would be a huge threat to America, so it is in the President's best interest to allow/encourage warfare between Eurasian countries, to prevent the continents from ever unifying. This song is about how there will be endless war in Eurasia, allowed/propagated by the US President. |

| Evanescence – Lithium Lyrics | 19 years ago |

When I first heard this I didn't know that lithium salts were used to treat bipolar disorder. I thought that Amy Lee had gone all chemistry on our asses. Such a good song. Beautifully encaptures the mind of a depressive and the notion of "curing" oneself with medication. |

| Muse – Crying Shame Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This is the final studio version of Crying Shame released as a B-Side on the Supermassive Black Hole single. I think the lyrics are slightly different from the demo version they played at Earl's Court on 19th December 2003, and they're very different from the version already posted on songmeanings.net! I think this is a pretty cool track though, wouldn't have been a bad A-Side. | |
| Muse – Map of the Problematique Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| w000 dis song is teh pwnage. I reckon Muse were working on this one when they were recording in France, which Dom described as a "secluded" environment (in the making of the SMBH video video), which is shown by things like "When will this lonliness be over" etc, and by the use of the French-sounding "Problematique" in the title. Sounds like they're loosing their minds or something in this song, like it's depicting a situation or relationship where things are going wrong and they're breaking down into panic/despair. | |
