Chiodos – Who's Sandie Jenkins Lyrics 19 years ago
Well the title of this song might tell the story of the song. Sandie Jenkins, or Sandy Jenkins.

According to the "Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass" Sandy is the slave that got Douglass thrown in jail for attempting to escape along with other slaves. They asked Sandy if he wanted to come along, but he backed out soon before they tried to escape.

So when the lyrics read "may it be the last of our alliance" I refer to it as the bond one slave had with another in the dream of being free one day.

And though there were not Phones back then, The line, "Forget I called" could refer to Douglass regreting telling Jenkins of the plan to escape.

Well those are my thoughts, I could be completely wrong, but it's amazing how songs can be interpeted in different ways, based on the knowledge of the listener.

Saosin – Penelope Lyrics 19 years ago
I agree with circaofsurvival. It is not about a goldfish even though it is very easily linked to a goldfishes life in some ways.

The part about "..raindrops falling down, seeping through your red scales." gives it away that it is about a drug abuser. Most likely a heroine addict. After a user takes it, the foil used in the process of making it, is forced out of your body through your skin creating "Red Scales", on your arms. So yeah. That's my thought.

The Sound of Animals Fighting – The Heretic Lyrics 19 years ago
I think I may have an idea of the songs meaning. From the sounds it seems to be religious. Heretic meaning one who doesn't follow the dogma of the church. Then there are the witch referances, relating to the witch trials in Salem MA, with witches being creatures in unison with the devil. Then burning, as in burning at the stake, which was a main method used to kill witches.

So basically the song is about not following faith and realizing it, and trying to find a way to cleanse the soul. Or simply the song can be about the Salem Witch Trials.

Also a few corrections on the lyrics, I think it may be "Punpkin Boy" because of jako-lanterns, in referance to the witch. And another change is the "Pride" part in the breakdown with the female vocalist, she actually says "Brine" which is a salty liquid, or tears.

Agreed, great song.
