Green Day – Know Your Enemy Lyrics 16 years ago
Good God, was this just someone who threw one verse (know your enemy) that he thought sounded badass into the generic lyric machine used in American Idiot?
Green Day have never been known for good lyrics, but this is too far. The new enemy: Green Day, for thinking it's still 2000 and anti-Bush is still the in-thing.

Guns N' Roses – November Rain Lyrics 17 years ago
Axl has said that this song is about not wanting to be in an nonreciprocating relationship, but Estranged is about being in unrequited love and accepting it.

Green Day – American Idiot Lyrics 17 years ago
The song is about Hulk Hogan running for Presidency and how Green Day feels that Bob Backlund would be the man better suited to the job. The line:
"Don't want a nation under the new (Hulka) mania."
clearly references Hulk Hogan, but they had to cut a word out to make it fit their simplistic guitar work.

Jay-Z – Pray Lyrics 18 years ago
I think the lyrics are off in a few places (I hear the first line as "Mind state of a gangster from the '40's", for example).
This song has a straight-forward meaning...there's two sides to the story of the main character in American Gangster. The whole "forced into what he does" type of deal...
It's a great song though.

I wish Sebastian Bach and Axl would record the two of them doing this song...they do it on tour and it's tight.

The Notorious B.I.G. – Tonight Lyrics 19 years ago
Isn't the second verse done by Mobb Deep?

Da Brat – Sittin On Top Of The World Lyrics 19 years ago
Da Brat sucks but this song is good...its meaning straight-forward.

Jay-Z – Dirt Off Your Shoulder Lyrics 19 years ago
I think some of the lyrics are wrong, but I love this song. I'm pretty sure it's "middle finger to the law, nigga, grippin' my balls" and "no chrome on the wheels, I'm a baller fo' real".

The Notorious B.I.G. – Juicy Lyrics 19 years ago
This song (and album) are overrated as hell. However, the meaning is very straight-forward.

Snow – The Plumb Song Lyrics 19 years ago
I love this song...Snow is in jail?

Prince – The Most Beautiful Girl In The World Lyrics 19 years ago
I love this song (and it's meaning is fairly obvious), but I prefer the Beautiful version of it off of The Beautiful Experience.

Guns N' Roses – Catcher In The Rye Lyrics 19 years ago
This is the best song that was leaked...I can't stop listening to it.

Guns N' Roses – I.R.S. Lyrics 19 years ago
It's a great song, but I'd say it's the weakest of the new songs that were leaked.

I'm about as huge of a GN'R fan as you can get, but I hope to high hell this shit isn't on the album when it's finally released (hopefully this year).

Guns N' Roses – Crash Diet Lyrics 19 years ago
"We weren't thinking of Crash Diet when we put the Illusions albums together."
That's a quote from Slash on your question. I would kill for a studio version of this song from them, but the Asphalt Ballet song is a good replacement, and Axl sings backup on it.

Prince – When Doves Cry Lyrics 19 years ago
This song is about inheriting the worst qualities of your parents. Prince wanted a song for a particular scene in the movie, and he quickly threw something together. That "throwing together" turned out to be an amazing song.

Tupac Shakur – Only Fear Of Death Lyrics 19 years ago
This is, far and away, my favourite 2Pac song. The lyrics just give you the impression (though I know otherwise) that it was like the last thing he did before he died, and this is the best beat in all of rap.

Guns N' Roses – There Was A Time Lyrics 19 years ago
This song is fantastic, it has a November Rain-feeling ending to it.

Guns N' Roses – You Could Be Mine Lyrics 19 years ago
Elton John wrote the line "we've seen that movie, too" and that is why he is credited.
