in response to the person who said i'm maybe just a fan who likes them because other people like them, you're wrong. I may not be a 'true fan' or whatever in your book because i asked one question i 'should' have known instictively known but I don't care. I've liked this band for four years. Here's what wiL said this song is about: "There's a lot of kids who are homosexual that listen to our band. Theses kids are so brave because they really are the minority inside of a minority. So 'Teenage Queen' is about coming out and being yourself and not worrying about the things in this world that are so fucked up- the people that tell you you're going to hell and the kids that try to beat you up because you're homosexual. whoa. I've literally just heard this for the first time. It's amazing. I'm pretty sure it's not a political thing, i agree with drunken buzby. It's musically an amazing song. Lyrically strong and damn exciting, I can't wait for the album to drop now XD xx Oh, and who else sings in this song? It doesn't sound like just Shadows.. is it the Rev or someone? This is EXACTLY what wiL said about this song in Kerrang! magazine: "'One Love' is written about a friend of mine I watched overdose in a bathroom. It's about being in love with something that with destroy you. Writing that song, I got relief.It evokes a lot of emotion in a positive way, but still with this dark, dreary overtone. This happened in the last year when I was using drugs, so a little over eight years ago. i agree with sirdevio.. plus at the beginning you hear a creaking door....like he's sneaking away somewhere or peeking through it. anyway, i just heard it for the first time... i personally had gone off the used but anyway this sounds amazing! The first thought i had musically was Tim Burton's NBC then P!ATD came to mind but a lot moodier and darker.. basically amazing! i might actually have to buy this now. |

i LOVE this song. I cannot wait for the album! I think that this song may be up there with my favourite MCR songs of all time! It's obvious that Frank can up with a lot of this song... you can tell from the musical vibe. xXx Oh and do the 'I think i'm gonna burn in hell' parts remind anyone else of the misfits? i think it is a closing song Alk3Crimson but not of afi in a recent interview they said they would do this as long as they have the fans. Its definitely a closure of some sort, its a shame davey wont eloborate on any of the lyrics.... then again they like us to have our own meanings to their songs. xXx |

okay so it talks about self-destruction and straving your self so at face value i take it as a self-harm related song more specifically an eating disorder. thats the way i interpreted it the very first time i heard it too.. this is my favourite song off of heroine and i would love for it to be release as their 3rd single i just doubt it will be.. :[ xXx |

i agree with the comment above and i agree that it is actually about sonny, for one look at the title and secondly its too personal to be a general overall look at life. if that was the case surely the "i"'s in the song would be replaced with "you"'s or "we"'s... and it would seem a little fake..FFTL arent that sort of band... so just believe its about sonny and realise how good it is. Just think if you were an 18 year old singer who liked to frequent the internet and you always found comments about your looks it WOULD affect you...you'd try to improve you'd try to be perfect. his "fans" talk about his height, weight, hair, skin and nose all the time and pick him apart, they pick out his faults and then he sees them when he looks at himself...his "fans" make him feel ugly. They forget he's just a person and how young he is..im almost 18 and if i had to read or hear half the things they say about him i'd hate myself in an instant. I say "fans" because im refering to the ones who can't see past apperances.. i know alot of his fans and fans of FFTL aren't to bothered about the way he looks... i think he's overcome all this though, he's lost his emo hair and his red eye make-up and turns up looking slightly scruffier but at ease.. i think its his "fuck you" to those people mentioned above.. and i'm so glad... because nasty comments can kill people and we ALL wouldn't want that... i know it's an extreme but its possible! Oh and about the eating disorder thing, i very easily beleve it could be true.. its referenced throughout the album eg. World war me and he's always seemed very aware of how he looks. i think this is a song about how comments such as "OMGz!! hes lyke soo ugly!!" can affect someone and that we should all think before we talk/type!! :] xXx |
