i agree with that. sounds like hes gonna break up with her and is thinking about how to do it. he cared about her alot but knows that it's over and it has to be done. he's pushing her aside like she did to him. i think fran's lines have everything to do with ben's. he's thinking about what he should do, so there's obviously gonna be some self doubt. |

This song is about, like has been said, them being on tour and feeling like they've abandoned everyone. And they were calling it quits but after taking a break for a while, they have started writing new music. It was sorta like a hiatus for awhile after this record, but they are back. |

i agree with what v-v-v-vickii said 100%, that's basically what the song said to me probably cuz I feel that way right now. and i think with or without John, they're still great. Lyrically, they have changed but they still have a unique lyrical style that isn't really heard much in other bands. mainly cuz most songwriters are really direct about what they feel. abd about makedamnsure being one word, it's because damn is supposed to be bleeped in media and they got away with it cuz makedamnsure isn't exactly in the dictionary. |

I think this is more of a reference to god than a reference to jesus. sorta of a god's forgotten children thing. I think that he's saying that god abandoned mankind, left us all behind. and maybe suicide or murder and straying from the path of god is more appealing than worshipping someone who doesn't love him. regaining the beauty of life being leaving life as he knows it. 666 also supports this because to most christians this is the satanic number. although, historically it just stands for the name of Nero. |
