For me, so many years, hell almost a decade later, this is still the coolest and wittiest song they've ever made and I've been a career-long fan so far, but this one always gets me going. |

@[This_is_a_Misnomer:15033] Wow shit, I've been listening to this song since it came out and I just ready your explanation of it being about MDMA and that makes more sense than any of the things I ever thought it was about!
Good job, wow lol. Gave me chills in a whole new way now. |

@[yanquiUXO:9959] Awesome username just fyi and also I believe you're right about a lot but I think the fictional Island just represents Earth, which makes it an even more real place to think about through the album. |

This will always be one of the most beautiful songs written..I love the imagery and it's pretty damn self explanatory I would think.. We can get so caught up thinking we'll ruin the earth and then outta nowhere mother nature will just claim back what is hers in her ever changing landscape. Imagine thats how it ends?
Who knew? Volcanoes! |

What the hell could this possibly mean?! :
"I'm tryna get up there with Master P
Pass the D, 'cause that's the way it has to be
We bust to be free, we trust to be G
So FUCK who be glee, it sucks to be me" |

No comments yet? Well I'll be the first to say this is definitely my favorite from the new album, at least so far. I can't stop listening to it.
I suppose it's pretty self explanatory. His idea of perfection may be flawed and he should maybe follow his instincts instead when it comes to his own life? |

I believe the people thinking that this sounds different from Sufjan I could not disagree more. I feel with this album he achieved a perfect display of his two styles. I think people may have gotten into him through Illinois, because it's fairly accessible. But if you've ever gone back through his catalog and listened to an album like Enjoy Your Rabbit and A Sun Came, you would realize he blended what he has always been doing. Which has been composing master pieces through various formats and production techniques. Songs that came out before Adz like "You Are The Blood" was certainly a precursor to what direction he was going to be going in. It's a perfect blend of electronic compositions, rock elements, orchestra, and choir-like music. Stuff that he has been doing all along, just normally dedicating a specific album to those styles he loves. To me Adz was the same Sufjan I've always loved. I've deemed it my favorite. But a lot of the times with favorite artists, their most current attempts are my favorite, until the next album of course. And if people were too shallow for Age of Adz then they should have paid attention to his releases. "All Delighted People" EP came out at around the same time as Adz and was more in the vein of Illinois and the more "Accessible Sufjan." Although I believe all you have to do is actually LISTEN to Adz to realize that it's genius and perhaps one of the best albums ever made. |

Some people look too deeply into lyrics I think.
How could this possibly be about anything more than just going to work, coming home, and getting stoned? |

TRUTH.
Everything we've ever learned we gained from teachers, parents, peers, books, movies. We are just the ghost of information from sources other than ourselves. |
