I can't believe that no one has referenced "Cries of the Past". You can almost driectly draw parallels from that song. "Kiss me one last time" - That line is in "Cries of the Past". Maybe he is just expanding on the song, or it's sort of an accompanying story...Someone back me up on this. |

"When you listen there's a hope and I know I'm being hurt" is actually "When you listen there's a hope and I know I'm being heard" |

I think that the "Sun" represents the guy's feelings for a girl. As the second line says, he wants too tell her, but he feels it's too soon. He also can't find the right way to express his feelings. He states that the only thing left to do is wait for the darkness, meaning to simply wait for the feelings he has for the girl to simply pass. When he says "You're making me hungry...But what's really funny is it's not sunny anymore" I think maybe the girl is expressing some sort of feelings towards him, but he is already "over her", but he hasn't told her that he is over her. The fourth verse is after he tells her that he is over his feelings for her. They both realize that the feelings were fleeting. He realizes that all that can be done now is to wait for feelings to arise again, but not necissarily in the same place. That is just my take on it...I could be completely wrong. |
