I cant accept that this song differs from the forever's storyline. I perceive this as about a man receiving visions from the planet Y warning about mans fate. He says that he is having dreams about living beneath the waves and cold machines rising from the deep (as happened to the forevers)and getting warnings from "them" "living inside my head" and being spoken to in dreams. He is put in an institute where the nurse tries to assure him that there is no-one out there (aliens) and he seen as being mentally ill due to the voices. The part about clones I think refers to the forevers planting their seed (d.n.a) on earth and starting the human race. |

I think its about the decline of the country since the war. "if it wasn't for the nips
being so good at building ships
the yards would still be open on the clyde" I think this refers to the decline in the ship building industry in the uk partly due to the japanese being "so good at building ships" I also think that the kids commiting suicide part is referring to the high suicide rate in teens in japan. |

I think this song is trying to express the bottom line of the futility of war. "Where are they now" saying that at the end of the day, they are not here. Thats how I see it anyway. |

Yea spot on. Belarus is a country just north of chernobyl (actually in ukraine) that was the mostly badly affected by the disaster. "Belaruse no longer feels the sun
But it's under the skin of everyone" refers to radiation poisoning and "When you can't walk in your field, Feel water in your hands" referring to the radiation that has affected the land. Thats how I see it anyhow. |
