| Marilyn Manson – Just A Car Crash Away Lyrics | 18 years ago |

In the first verse, I think he is saying that after the breakup, he was devastated, and possibly felt as if that was his chance at love gone. ("Is this all we get for our lives?") He then gives us a great insight on marriage and love, that I think is particularly relevant these days with such a high divorce rate. ("Is love only sweet when one of us dies?") There are really only 2 ways for a relationship to end; in a breakup, or with a death. The death may come after many years, of old age or something else... or it may come soon, in the form of say... a car crash? "Then I knew that our love was just a car crash away" I believe here he is saying that if one of them had died in a car crash prior to the messy breakup, they would have been spared it, and their love would have been preserved forever, without being allowed to decay and shatter as it did. The rest is fairly straightforward, I think he is just expanding on the idea and of course saying how love is beautiful but destructive, and adding the idea that it probably never lasts. Or at least... that's how I interpret the song :P |

It's a cover of the theme song from the movie of the same name. I loved that flick when I was little, and have it on DVD somewhere. Nice cover, brings back memories :) |
