Teddybears – Cobrastyle Lyrics 17 years ago
These are the actual lyrics, they're just written in Patois, which is the English creole spoken in Jamaica.

Robyn's version is not in Patois: http://www.songmeanings.net/songs/view/3530822107858719967/

NOFX – The Brews Lyrics 19 years ago
"[This is what some of the Jewish terms mean:]
[Manashevitz = Cheap wine Jews stereotypically drink; Goyem = Non-Jewish people; Shagitz = Preppies; Mashuganas = Yiddish for "Crazy"; Chutspah = Untranslatable Yiddish term meaning a cross between balls and rudeness; "Sporting anti-swastika tattoos" - It's against the Jewish law to get a tattoo; "As long as we're home by Saturday morning" - Jews gotta be home in time for Synagogue; Fairfax = A part of LA where the Orthodox Jews live; "Dai Dayenu" = Part of Jewish Hymn; Shicksa = Yiddish word for referring to a non-Jewish female;]"

I think OG means original gangster in some cases but I'm not sure if that's what they mean here.

Red Hot Chili Peppers – Shallow Be Thy Game Lyrics 19 years ago
This isn't about Christianity. And it's not against God. It's against the Catholic Church. RHCP isn't just bashing God. They're bashing the church because they feed on most people's need to believe in some sort of God and the fear that they have for the things they don't know and for the things happening to the world right now.

And BlamedTonight314, it's HALLOWED Be Thy Name.

Eminem – White America Lyrics 19 years ago
I think he's realizing something here.

He's against the government thinking for everyone and the big companies doing the same thing but then as soon as he goes out there and moves these people, he's the big company. He's the one thinking for everyone.

So the problem, is the American people who have to follow someone and can't lead themselves but also the government/big companies for taking advantage of that.

Eminem – Mosh Lyrics 19 years ago
As the only exception of someone who sounds like a 'gangster rapper', I like this song. He masters the words and keeps going. I like that.

John Kerry would not have been worse than Bush. He was not the best candidate, no, but if it was between him and Bush, it's rather obvious. Al Gore was better. And Howard Dean was better than the two of them + Clinton put together.

Green Day – Boulevard of Broken Dreams Lyrics 19 years ago
This song has a great beat and melody... but the lyrics are the same old damn thing again. They're not punk, they're now pop. And by pop, I mean they try to make it look like they've had a hard life. The old Green Day was good. (Dookie).

Note: Allah is not the Islamic God, it just means God in their language. Christians, Jews, and Muslims all believe in the same God. So Allah also means the Christian God.

Simon and Garfunkel – The Only Living Boy In New York Lyrics 19 years ago
This is such a great song. If you can take out the New York part, this can apply to many situations. I do live in New York so it seems to ring more.

Every single time he says:

The only living boy in New Yooork...
The only living boy in New York.

I always think he's about to add in City. But he never does. ^_^

I agree with that. ^^

They made a bunch of songs about immigration.

Rancid – David Courtney Lyrics 19 years ago
I like this song a lot. I seem to like a lot of songs even though they're loud... but not because they are.

My favorite part is when he raps. I don't like rap nor loud music... but when the song itself is good, it makes up. I love Mafia type voices. They rule.

And it has an awesome beat.

Not much else to say...

There's only one other punk song that I like that has rap in it, Let Them Eat War.

No Use For A Name – Fields Of Agony Lyrics 19 years ago
I like this song a lot. But only the Acoustic version.

I can't believe that I'm the second one to post this after four years. No one's gonna ever see this...

Wow...

NOFX – The Brews Lyrics 19 years ago
This is my favorite song on Punk In Drublic.

It's just awesome. There was another site that went through all the Hebrew words mentioned in the song.

No Doubt – Comforting Lie Lyrics 19 years ago
This is a great song. I'm not too sure what it means.

I like Brainstewed's thing. But I think the Band-Aid part is different. I'm not sure how to explain it exactly but it's like when someone dies or you break up with someone and you move on, you'd always be asking yourself, 'Did I give it enough time?'

I can't understand a damn word he's saying but the lyrics are awesome.

The Unseen – Scream Out Lyrics 19 years ago
I don't like his voice. And although this may have been caused by problems that Bush has created, I'm not sure it belongs on the Rock Against Bush album.

I'm not sure I understand why this is on the Rock Against Bush album...

Flogging Molly – Drunken Lullabies Lyrics 19 years ago
This song... is so awesome. It's mixing with rock with Celtic music. There are such horrible songs on Rock Against Bush Vol 1 and 2 and then there are awesome songs like this one.

It seems to be saying that we keep screwing up and don't learn from our mistakes. We find ourselves in the same old mess. And then... we get drunk and try to feel better about it. Singing drunken lullabies.

Operation Ivy – Unity Lyrics 19 years ago
There are few similarities between Bush and Clinton. Clinton was in between Republican and Democratic. He was Democratic, but because of Congress, was forced to give in to a lot of Republican things which made him a good president. (Not because it was Republican, but because there was a balance).

This is obviously about stopping the war which is something we need to do but people who keep saying that we need to try for world peace... that's really stupid. War is part of the human race's basic instinct. It's our job to stop each individual war though. There are no shortcuts there. It's an ongoing struggle and it's never going to end unless we all take pills that nerf our emotions.

Green Day – Favorite Son Lyrics 19 years ago
I usually hate Green Day. The new Green Day just sucks so bad. But the old Green Day (like... Dookie) rules.

I liked that comparison to Kobe and Bush. Except that every verse applies to both of them. Favorite Son obviously applies to Bush only though.

The meaning of the words 'Favorite Son' - http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=favorite%20son

And this isn't about John Lennon. I'm sorry, but I find that really stupid. I use the phrase, 'Isn't it a drag?'

Less Than Jake – The Brightest Bulb Has Burned Out Lyrics 19 years ago
It's probably about Fat Mike.

This is one of my favorite songs by Less Than Jake and the best one on Rock Against Bush Vol. 1 and even 2.

NOFX – Jaw Knee Music Lyrics 19 years ago
This has a ton of references to punk bands. NOFX does that a lot. It's about how people aren't accepted into society because they're different.

Using the example of people who are 'punk'.

New Found Glory – No News Is Good News Lyrics 19 years ago
It's rather obvious what this song is about...

It's nothing to do with the government really, it's just saying how no one thinks for themselves in America.

We're run by the big companies.

The World/Inferno Friendship Society – The Expatriate Act Lyrics 19 years ago
Browntown - If they didn't play it because 'they were being chased by the FBI', I think they would rather not be thrown in jail and then be covered up. To do something, we'd need a lot of people. Once we have that, there's no one to cover us up. 50 million people surrounding the White House would be great.
