| krig, i agree with your intepretation. furthermore, the childish wording and the repetition of that solemn chord in the last stanza lead me to believe that the speaker obsessed over their relationship, and it eventually became the bane of his childhood -- the first step in a transgression from innocence to a world of selfishness and sex. | |
