Disturbed – Sons of Plunder Lyrics 18 years ago
Just because every other lyrics site says it doesnt mean its called Sons of Plunder. Granted, it would make a lot more sense considering the lyrics, but...
http://www.disturbed1.com/main.html and click on music to find the track listing. Im with blank canvas on this, it's Son of a Plunder. I don't have the cd cover itself, but i know when you play it on WMP it comes up as Son of a Plunder. Maybe disturbed just couldn't make up their minds?

You must work in hollywood...

Maybe the contemporary illuminati actually consists of little gnomes and martians buried deep below the surface and influencing us with cosmic rays focused by giant crystals.

Don't get me wrong, I agree that the current United states is run by beurocrats and greedy crooks. But I don't believe it was always that way.

I still haven't decided if I think you were serious or not, but I'll act like you were, just in case. All I have to say is that the Anti-Christ is supposed to be human, not some demon with eternal life. He could not have been controlling his puppets since 1776. It's his master that controls said "puppets" until his arrival, whenever that may be. And I'm not sure if you've read Revelation or not, but one of the Anti-Christ's main goals is quite the opposite of the abolition of organized government. He is supposed to be the one that unifies all the existing governments. One could probably argue something about United Nations being the first stepping stone for the AntiChrist, but this is a thread about Nine Inch Nails, so I don't know why you wrote 10 paragraphs about little gnomes and martians... er, secret societies taking over the world.

One thing that bothers me is everyone's perspective on Atheism. I quote odin lowe from page 1 "Thank god i'm an atheist." Why thank Him if you don't think He exists?? According to Atheism, God can not be dead because He was never alive. Please, for my sanity, keep this in mind. It helps your argument to know your own religion. Atheism, by the way, is a religion.

I think one of the most valid points in this string is that there is a difference between killing and murdering. The Bible does in fact say that if a man deliberately kills another he should be put to death. (Exodus 21:14) And Exodus is just as much a part of the Bible as the New Testament, and while the New Testament may be more applicable today, the Old Testament is still the word of God. At least according to Christianity.

As for the crusades and all the killing done in the name of God, just because a man claims it's God's will doesn't mean it is. In the same way, not all who claim to be Christians really are. And they tend to give the real ones like Chrissy3784 a bad name. A good reference is the movie Kingdom of Heaven. The king says "But remember that, even when those who move you be kings or men of power, your soul is in your keeping alone. When you stand before God you cannot say 'but I was told by others to do thus' or that 'virtue was not convinient at the time.' This will not suffice." Basically, each of us is responsible for his or her own actions. As for the child whose parent gives him a loaded gun, the parent is held responsible because the child has no knowledge of the consequences of his actions. God can't be held responsible for man's sin because the man is aware of the consequences and is old enough to be held accountable for his actions.

I think I missed some of the arguments I wanted to mention, but I hope I helped some of you understand religion.

Eagle-Eye Cherry – Save Tonight Lyrics 19 years ago
Personally, I don't believe the song is about Jesus. The best interpretation in my eyes is the soldier going off to war. I still cant help but argue on behalf of those who do believe it's about Jesus. Some of you claim that everyone can interpret the song however they want, yet in the next sentence you bash their opinion. Maybe instead you could try and give a better interpretation. Words such as "darling" and "girl" don't exactly point towards Jesus, but many good writers use allegorical references to make a point. Singers/Bands don't have to categorized as Christian music in order to write christian songs. The label of "Christian" actually refers to the recording artist, not the music itself. Creed's song "Higher" comes to mind, but you can read about that on another string.
So far, no one has proven that this song ISN'T about Christ, and until you do, maybe you shouldn't bash those who think it is.

It seems to me that some of you simply want to avoid the topic of Christianity... but honestly, what do you have to lose by talking about it?
