| Phish – Chalk Dust Torture Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I've always assumed this was about going to high school mad baked. "But who can unlearn all the facts that I've learned As I sat in their chairs and my synapses burned" He is sitting in class and bored as hell. "And the torture of chalk dust collects on my tongue" He has some serious dry mouth. "Thoughts follow my vision and dance in the sun" He is day dreaming basically. "All my vasoconstrictors they come slowly undone" His blood vessels are dilated, causing red eyes. "Can't this wait till I'm old? Can't I live while I'm young?" |

| Chamillionaire – Ridin' Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Ridin dirty obviously means driving with weed/ other illegal shit in your car. The lyrics are actually "I'm slangin" as in slanging mad bags yo. For the person above, hes obviously not innocent if he has warrants in except Houston. The last verse says "Cause they think they know that they catchin me with plenty of the drank and dro" but hes not riding dirty so the cops still can't do shit. The end. |

| Grateful Dead – Dark Star Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song was written from the perspective of an acid trip. It's a metaphor for the cosmic forces which seem to control your life, and what causes us to perservere through our brief nihilistic existence. In the end, the nightfall of diamonds is exceedingly transitory but that takes nothing away from it's breathtaking beauty. If this song could be distilled into one emotion, it would be that of awe. The composition that was followed for this song drives the point home further, with a dramatic build up of energy which sometimes would explode with apocalyptic fury, and other times simply fade out, like a dying star. | |
| Grateful Dead – Terrapin Station Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I honestly believe that this song was inspired by some higher power. It encompasses all the emotions and trials of life, good and evil. This is the greatest song ever written in my opinion. Each line deserves to be individually scrutinized and deciphered. It is a metaphor for life, love, loss, death, and everything in between. | |
| Grateful Dead – Wharf Rat Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think this is the one of the saddest stories ever told. Like the person above me said, purley baker is a double entendre, referring to both the woman in the song and her relation to the wharf rats alcoholism. I dont know why but I always assume the pleas at the end of the song are in vain. The last two lines are the story teller showing that he was quite shaken by his experience, and thus he is reassuring himself that his woman has been true to him. Anyhow this one of the most beautiful, epic tales ever told. REST IN PEACE JERRY. | |
