Taking Back Sunday – My Blue Heaven Lyrics 19 years ago
I think the song tries to portray a relationship between a person who can not get over his ex. About how he is trying to get away from the relationship and he keeps going back to her. This might be because that is all he knows.

"And it's all too familiar
And it happens all the time.
All the cards begin to stack up,
Twisting heartache into fine
Little pieces that avoid an awful crime,
But it's you I can't deny.
(You I can't deny.)

We swing and we sway
As this tiny voice in
My head starts to sing
You're safe, child, you are safe.
(You're safe, child, you are safe.)
You're safe, child, you are safe."

As if he is sick and tired of this relationship but he seems to go back to it because that is all he knows. As for the Blue Heaven i believe is that when he is with her it feels like heaven. The safe child means that he is familiar territory and that he enjoys her company but he need to leave her.

This is what the song means to me. By far the best song on the Cd. Very well written best stuff since John Nolan.
