O.k., I could personally attack people who have already commented on this wonderful piece of music, but I won't. I will speak in generalities as to not make someone cry. This is not suppose to be a happy-go-lucky song. Conor wants to sing it bad. If you watch the Leno performance and really listen, he attempts to have the stereotypical "Texan" drawl. He did not "jump on the bush bashing bandwagon" nor is he trying to move people to this alleged bandwagon. This song is questioning the motives of the current administration and using God to justify these actions, as so many have done. Dating back to Manifest Destiny, the witch hunts of the Middle Ages and even to the Greco-Roman era, atrocious acts were done in the name of "God" or certain "gods"... Do not bash people just because they do not agree with what they say. It just goes to show that your ignorance only supplements theirs. Try to listen to the message, not where he was too fucking sharp or flat and where he missed the accidental in the third fucking measure! Take it for what it's worth! |
