I noticed that as well, but that goes back to a lot of Christian songs. Change God/Christ to a girls name and what not. A lot of Lifehouse stuff is like that too. Doesn't matter to me, becuase to me the song is about how God is always there, in the good and the bad... Great thing about music, poetry, film, and all types of art, is that you can interpret it the way YOU want to. Everything has it's own individual meaning to everyone who witnesses it, that's what's so great about this world. |

I think this song is about him falling in love with a type of girl that he never thought he'd be attracted to, but its really confsuing to him because she makes him weak when theyre together (which is a GOOD THING.. meaning love), and he is realizing she is everything he ever wanted, but never thought she would be.
It hits close to home for me, because I am following a girl to college, and quite frankly, shes not what I thought I'd fall inlove with. Other than her being an athlete and red hair (which i love), she drinks, has had sex, and used to smoke (but quit for me!), and i hate all of that in a girl I'm dating, but sure enough, she is the most amazing girl I have ever known, and I love her.

The video for this song is great, tho it doenst help with the meaning for me... but I think its about him and a girl and he thought everything was going well, but all the sudden she starts lying to him and just stops caring about him. Everyone is telling him to give up, there's no good way out, he's in over his head, but he stretches the realtionship out past where it should have ended, but now with "8 seconds left in OT (OT meaning the extra time he stretched it out to)" he still cant stop thinking about her. As much as he wishes he never got to be so close to her, and that he could just disengage, he cant stop thinking about her... but even tho he knows he's probably destine for breakup, he wants to prove everyone wrong... thats why he says "Everyone knows im in over my head." not "I know im in over my head" |

I agree with wreckless abandon. To me, its about this girl that I've been talking to since February that I have fallen in love with pretty quickly. She is gettin over a past relationship, so I know she doesnt "love" me yet, but she knows that I would stop the storm if it rains.. yadda yadda do anything for her and when we're together the world disappears and its just her and I.

I'm a fan of this song simply because what this song is about is what I constantly told a girl that I was talking to for a few months. We went on a fall out for a little bit, then all the sudden she posted these lyrics on her blog and now everythings good again. It's so cool to me that she rememebered those WOA I told her. |
