| I'm pretty sure the Prochoice thing was just a publicity stunt. I can't see it, the lyrics don't fit at all. If I had to say it was about pro choice/ pro life, it might be about relating a relationship to saying, "once you get this abortion it can't be undone", and comparing it to a ruined relationship. But that would be more Pro Life | |

My thoughts about this song is kinda a hybrid but it means the most to me. before I say this I would also like to note that what makes Pearl Jam so good is that each perosn can relate to a song in their own ways. well here it goes. When I listen tot his song I think of a kid who died during middle school. Who was a good kid that everyone liked but got involved in drugs and everyone liked him. He was a Big Fish.Then he drowns in a horrific accident. Then when he dies he wants to help free friends and help them ahve a better life. Then the strongest part of the song IMO is "And he still gets his love he just gives it away. The love he receives is the love that is saved." meanings thta through his death he helped his friends relizze to live life the the fullest and be free. help them get off drugs and stuff. Meanings even though he died everyone who ever knew him has a different perspective on life for the better. "And sometimes is seen a strange spot in the sky" meaning whenever his friends look up in the sky they think of him. " A human being that was given to fly" |
