Ok, this is a dumb question, that has nothing to do with this song... When I put my four winds cd into my stereo I have 6 cd tracks, and an extra 36 mp3 tracks... Is this just me? |

re: The Ewok Song. Yup. Now that you mention it I see what you mean, especially the mainly percussion parts at the beginning and end. |

| Led Zeppelin – Stairway to Heaven Lyrics

OMG. Robert Plant didn't "go solo", Led Zeppelin chose not to go on after John Bonham died. But I will agree most of his music does blow.
The song is not about LOTR directly, but it was an influence on a lot of their writing. Drugs were a large influence. And it the case of Jimmy Page anyhow, satanism, or mysticism, or witchcraft was also an influence.
As for the song, I'm not a huge fan anymore, but was when I was younger. But the biggest problem is that is is hugely overplayed.
As for the meaning, most Zeppelin songs don't have some sort of deeper meaning that will change your life, it's just a song. It entertains. |

| Bob Dylan – Not Dark Yet Lyrics

I think this song is a bit of a snapshot of Bob's current (at the time it was written) state of mind. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like he's saying that his life, which was far different than the life any of us (well me anyway) will ever have, has turned him into the person he is. Well, I guess that's true of everybody, but in his case it's transpired in the public eye. "Behind every beautiful thing there's been some kind of pain", I always get the feeling that all the hearfelt love songs of Dylan's that I love and find beautiful, well while they are beautiful to me, they are painful memories for him at the same time, but once you "put them down in writing" you can never escape them. Someone mentioned earlier that he can't get over Sara, but just imagine trying to get over the love of your life when you have to play songs about her every other night of your life!
I could pick apart more of the song and make similar analogies, but time won't let me, and you don't really want to read it all! Long story short, to me it's a song about a man whose life has partly been determined by him, and partly by forces beyond his control, and now he can never get away from the man he is (or is expected to be). Make sense? I don't know......... |

| Bob Dylan – Sara Lyrics

Firstly, the meaning behind the song is pretty clearly the Sara/Bob relationship and it's troubles. As with most of Dylan's songs, you can find different layers of meaning, but I think the intent is pretty clear here.
Secondly, like what Edmon said above, I heard that Sara was there while this was being recorded. The story I heard was slightly different however. From what I had heard or read somewhere, they (Bob/Sara) were seperated at the time, and she randomly came to visit the studio. He was in the midst of recording this song, and in she walks. They keep recording, but it becomes a serenade in a sense, because he's now singing the song about and TO her through the glass of the studio. Picturing that in my head when I listen to this song gives me goosebumps.
Thirdly, whether the above is true or not, it's still a pretty good story about a damn good song. |

| The Cure – Want Lyrics

Quite clearly this song, as a few other Cure songs are, is about "always wanting more". You can never be satisfied, sated, or otherwise content, you need to have MORE, even to the detriment of your own happiness. The theme runs through the whole WMS album. |
