Okay, I'm going to shut everyone up because this argument is starting to piss me off. Skillet is a Christian band, meaning that all of the members are Christians. However there are two types of Christian bands. There are bands made up of Christians who happen to be musicians and there are bands made up of musicians who happen to be Christian. Skillet is the latter as are Creed, Collective Soul, Switchfoot and U2 just to name a few. I am not a Christian but I have immersed myself in Eastern Philosophy and I have a pretty good understanding of true Christianity. Even though I am not a Christian, I love bands like Skillet because they write songs about making the world a better place without overtly talking about God... and if Spark is going to say that writing songs about love being the path to salvation pisses him off then that is his right.. however I disagree with what he is saying obviously. |

I love this song. I'm listening to it for the first time right now. I think its about a girl that Chris loves but this girl is afraid to be herself and show her scar because she's afraid of what people will think and how they will react to it. He's telling her that he understands how she feels and that he loves her no matter what and he's always here for her and that will never change because he thinks she is beautiful inside and out. |

This is another sog for Vanessa, most of the songs on the new album seem to be about her. his one is telling her that she saves Aaron everyday, but to me this song reminds me of my best friend Sasha, not only because I love her with all my heart, but because she is the only person that can make me smile and laugh no matter what. She saves me every day. She did it for five years when we wre little and she's done it for the past two since we started talking again. I love you Sash. :) |

This song reminds me of my friend Sasha. We've known eachother since we were six(we're 20 now) and she's the only one that I kow will never change faces and will always be there for me no matter what(like I am for her). Just like the person Jason is talking about in this song(not the girl with the pretty smile which covers up the poison that she hides) but the only one who will never change faces, which could be a guy or a girl, but for me is a girl. |

This is an Anti-war song... but why does Tom open it by talking about WWII and then suddenly make it about Iraq? I like the song and the message it sends about war being bad and that people should just love eachother unconditionally like every AVA song(except for Rite of Spring and It Hurts), but I'm not exactly sure what WWII and Iraq have to do with eachother. WWII was the only justifiable war that America has ever been in and Iraq is total bullshit just like Korea, Vietnam and The Gulf War. A little confusing, but a good song though. Very powerful. |

Maybe this song is about the end of Blink maybe it isn't, I don't know. I do know tht it is about a relationship coming to an end. As for what other people have said about Mark and Tom's lyrical styles, I enjoy both and to say one is better than the other is completely ludicious because it's like comparing apples to oranges. However, I am surprised that it is Tom not Mark that is in Angels and Airwaves, because I always thought that Mark wrote Blink's more serious songs like Go or Stay together for the kids and Tom wrote the funny songs like Dysentary Gary and What's My Age Again. That may still be the case, I don't know, but I do know that to say +44 is better than +44 or Angels and Airwaves is better than +44 is stupid because they are totally different stylistically. They are both eually good for different reasons.. so stop being a bunch of babies and fighting about wgich is better. It seems like a fight always develops on one of these boards and while amusing they do not serve to talk about the meaning of the songs. So stop fighting all of you, you are a bunch of babies. |

Woo Hoo first comment. This is an awesome song. Like most of R.E.M.'s songs at times when the government is controlled by Republican's, I believe that this song is about escaping and repairing the damage that the Republican party causes to our country. The lines where is the ripcord, the trapdoor the key and where is the cartoon escape hatch for me prove this. They want W. out of the Whitehouse as do I and probably everybody else who listens to and enjoys R.E.M. They're back. :) |

But anyway, the song is about how the bulls(male republicans) claim to be family orriented but yet they send people off to war and other places where conflict is rampant therefore tearing apart the familes they supposedly rally around. Oh yeah, they are political even though they tried not to be. Listen to Wide Awake and many of their other songs and tell me that there isn't deep seeded political meaning in them. It is Rage Against The Machine after all with a different singer. You know that a large percentage of the songs by this band are either political or anti religous since Cornell has a bone to pick with religon and Rage was extremely political. That said, I think this song is about the stupidity of the terrorist scare and the war in Iraq. Al Quida is not coming back here and even if they were fighting Iraq isn't going to detoure them, so yeah in so many words this is a political song. Audioslave was awesome while it lasted, but now I want a new Rage album. |
