For me this song always reminded me of my senior year of high school. I always thought it would be the perfect graduation or prom song (much better then the tacky ones usually used). This song is totally my life. I moved to away for school,Something I'd always dreamed of, but it wasnt what I had expected. ("You've made quite a life for yourself, one better than you've dreamt But it's weighing down the sides of your mouth to an appearing frown") Then when I came back to my hometown, everyone and everything had changed, and it was awkward. Its like realizing, life is what you make of it. If you waste time, thinking of how things could be in an ideal world, is just a waste of your life, sometimes you just have to grin and bare it, and make it something positive. I just love EP, it means alot to me. i think its perfect. |

| I think its like...they are just playing games with each other, pretending not really to know. she wants to be with him in a loving way ("you've got those tired eyes, all the time,you need someone to bring you to bed), but he wants something more carnal. he doesnt really care enough to put forth an effort with the female so he figures he will write her a song(since thats what is good at) to make her stick around, and feel somewhat appreciated. But he doesnt appreciate her at all, he is under her skin, and she cant let go even though its not right. thats my take on it. | |

I think the song is just about being a band, and trying to find success, and having people constantly watching you and looking to you for something they cant find in themselves. And having people want to just be in a picture with you,even though you are complete strangers when a picture is something personal. He's saying that the band, the music, and the fans are the best things that ever happened to him. And that those things (fame, fans, etc) wont go to his head, even if they become hugely successful, he is going to stay true to what he believes in and they are going to keep making what they are proud of. "This is the beginning of something, too strong to break now." You are getting it all wrong, the song has nothing to do with sex, it's about staying true to yourself. |
