| I think the meaning has been covered pretty well I just wanted to say that i freakin love this song and AOF. These lyrics are a stroke of genius they describe feelings that most of us including myself have felt at one point or another and do it so beautifully. I also love the metaphorical lyrics in George's harsh scream juxtaposed with the straight up lyrics from dallas's soft singing voice - both meaning the same thing but saying them so differently. simply amazing. | |

Well man i read these lyrics a couple times and they are confusing. I love lydia tho and this is a great song. So seems to me..until about the end its about a guy who just wants to have sex with this girl - well maybe not but for some reason he desperately wants to get to a hotel with her, seems to me he plans to do her. Anyways so most of the song they are driving in this car and they are drunk as hell, they get close but then I think the car crashes 'But the car had to much force to it. And the road is so unforgiving.' but then...wat? i dont understand the first before the crash or anythign after. Do they die? maybe they don't actually crash? i'm so confused..anyone have any ideas? |

Wow i cant believe no one has commented on this song, one of his best, sage is freakin amazing. Well here goes I think this song sounds to me like Some guy didn't treat his wife that well so she ditched out on him. He chased after her but she's gone and now he realizes how much she meant to him. I think the part about the tower and the princess is about him trying to keep her all cooped up like a trophy wife and the same with the bridle and headstall like he was just a prize stallion to him. Then the start is her taking off, the song is written non chronologically? I'm not so sure about the same fire new passion old flame traded in for a summer fling. anyone wanna help me out on this? and also i think a couple of the lyrics are wrong up there I think its 'out of spite the lighting strikes him twice' maybe? and also 'and all his magnificence can only keep the mice trapped..' |

These lyrics are defintely really weird and confusing if you just read them but I most definetley think it has something to do with love. First of all take the title: Pulmonary archery, like its already been said arrows and hearts, duh. Why would you give a song name a title like that unless it had somethign to do with love? i totally disagree with that weird racism theory that some of you believe I mean I guess the alamo..1977 I dunno I guess some of you can make some connection but to me it just sounds like he is angry or hurt or something over some girl: I don't care how things Were and I won't Apologize. I won't apologize. Fuck you. also. this is by far my favorite AOF song and probably one of my all time favorite songs, so much energy, just makes me want to punch someone in the face, in a good way. amazzing in concert, hope i get to see them again. |
