I would do anything for a recording of this song... It's pretty much impossible to find. |

I think this song is about giving up on love and or life. I'm gunna go ahead and assume that the person he is speaking about is girl too. But I think the singer is lost in these black clouds, hes been 'Internationally bastardised.' Then when he cries out for mother in dersperation. So in this desperation he went out with this one girl for a summer who meant nothing to him (You were pulled out of the embers) that ended up falling for him and makes him her 'work of art'. He finally reveals to the girl later about how she meant nothing to him(It was never my intention) he tells her 'The truth is I'm not sorry.' So she wastes a whole summer filled with wishful thinking - 'Summertime has come and gone All used up with wishful thinking' she's very mad and frustrated (Get sussed out, get cynical) And she goes to talk to him about her broken heart but he already know that feeling because its exactly the feeling he has felt all along You don't need to preach to me I'm a believer baby And then he goes on about how there are no second chances and re empasizes it several times - 'In this world there are no second chances,' 'a pillar of salt' which is saying no matter how many times he tries to get it right it just doesnt work like that because that is not how the world works. Thats just how i see it, but i love this song so much. It makes me think of summer. |
