people who are "hating" on these lyrics just haven't analysed them enough. 1) "I'm hot cause I'm fly." 2) "you aint (hot) cause your not (fly)" 3) rearanging statement 1 gives "fly implies hot" 4) rearanging statement 2 gives "not fly implies not hot" 5) statement 4 proves that "hot implies fly" 6) "hot implies fly" and "fly implies hot" means that the two sets are equivalent! MIMS statements mathematically show that "hot" and "fly" are in fact different words for the exact same thing. there is no difference between the two! maybe this is his attempt to teach discrete mathematics to his audience which is very philanthropic of him... Then again maybe i've read to much into it and his lyrics ARE actually shallow, poorly thought out dross. |

once again he is intentionally being controversial so as to apear badass. so that other people who pretend to be badass can flaunt it by listening to the music. to say you love someone and that you wish to cause them unimaginable pain is a contradiction. Yes, I have had g/f i loved cheat on me, then leave me for someone, and with a friend no less. But i would never wish anything in this song upon her. It's stupid to say that someone who does NOT want to torture and kill their S/O when they break up obviously didnt love them. Its COMPLETELY the other way around. In short, i dont think that Em is sick and twisted, only that hes trying to appear that way to appeal to those who would idolize him as such. and in doing so gradually selling off whatever bonds he shares with kim and haille for money. |

nice write up by kwsnbrg. to me it seems to refer throughout the song to the inevitability of death. "these lines of life, have been drawn and cant be removed" - life travels along a set path ending in death which cannot be avoided. a persons life line is set. "the seed waits for the reaper to sew" - a human "seed" waits to be born, but this is at the hand of the reaper. the reaper brings death. This is saying: to be born is to die. using the analogy of crops being sowed and then harvested by the reaper. the main point of the song is then how does love fit into this. "what is love?". "That we may make a kiss that can pierce through Death & survive Your words have branded my mind" - thier love strives for eternity but in the end it is linked to thier non eternal bodies "we of flesh and blood, are only carrying". the last stanza deals with the actual death "take all your peices home" - when they die everything that was a part of them goes with them. "what is love?" is a rhetorical question being asked by those who are left behind, which the song answers for them. "the blood is love" meaning, just as the blood dies and decays so does the love that person contained. love is no more eternal than our bodies are. a very dark and bitter song. another interpretation of the last two lines could be the blood meaning offspring. ie an echo of their love is passed down through thier anscestors achieving eternity and thus peircing through death and surviving. Although thats a happier conclusion to the song it doesn't fit the mood and the depressing music. Great song still. My favourite off lullabies album |

I could swear i hear "check the claws" whispered in the middle of the song everytime. that seems to fit considering that phrase is used elsewhere in the song too. I think the word "claws" in these lyrics are also interchangable with "clause" as in a clause in a contract. through the news recently there has been stories of people being brought in from overseas to work in brothels and forced into contracts to service ridiculous numbers of "clients" per day under threat of deportation or worse. the use of "niche" says that it is her place in life, she belongs there. As if she were being led to believe that by those that "own" her. also her "carve your niche" shows that she accepts this, probably through low self esteem. |
