| seanisth that's a good interpretation! the idea that he told her he liked her and she didn't feel the same way made me look at the song in an entirely different way. i love it just a tad bit more now. i've been in that situation (hasn't everyone though?) it's horrible. i think i'll go listen to it now. i liked the shins before garden state came out and then i watched the movie. it's love. | |

i think when they say "little one on the other side" they're looking at the baby in the nursery. and then it says "Dance until the band stops playing Sing with all your might" because the baby is still alive. it doesn't make sense if the child is dead. |
