| Fall Out Boy – Bang the Doldrums Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| The line, "I cast a spell over the West to make you think of me the same way I think of you" could very well be saying that she never cared about him as much as he cared about her, even though he wished she would and tried his best to make her fall in love with him, too. | |

fyi- its "joy, where have you been?" x 5 followed by "joy, my god, where have you been?" then "joy, my god, my god, where have you been?" and finally " joy, my god, where have you been?" x 2. maybe that'll clear that up. |

I disagree with Jew Fro Kid, who I think is disregarding the first few lines of the song completely... they prove that it wasn't some random hookup. Fantastic song, fantastic band. |

I think that "child" refers to how people see the main person, who is sick. When you think about it, if someone is terminally ill, they are treated like a child... helpless, and confined. They don't feel like they are able to actually live. |

| Margot & the Nuclear So and So's – Skeleton Key Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I think this song refers to two people who were both cheating on their companions with eachother. "I did a sick, sick thing to my love. My lack of loyalty, it swallowed her up. And she cooks me food." ...Could be refering to the companion. While the rest refers to the other woman. The other woman seems to be a "skeleton key" (a key that can open all doors) because she can be with more than one man (like a s. key can open more than one door). Perhaps this affair was revealed, and she is "finally free to twist and turn like a skeleton key" (be with more than one man, without having to hide it... hense "free to"). He blames the other woman for his predicament ("my dire affliction i'll attribute to you"). I think he questions her love for him ("don't claim you love me, cause you know that ain't true."), and that is what "you've gotta let me know" refers to (whether she ever loved him, or if he was just another guy to toy with). He had to let the other woman go, it seems, to save his original relationship. I think he is a bit sarcastic, though. Perhaps, he means that everyone else sees her as a "skeleton key", but to him she was always something special. And he misses her. He's with the original woman, but he regrets letting the one he had an affair with go. That's my take. |
