You know girls can kinda use this song as a euphemism for dick. Its pink innir? Gets us high as a kite innit? haha Yeah this song is so full of sexual innuendoes and i love it. I think he's saying he's found the perfect "cherry". She makes him so sexually alive and pretty much in love ("it was love at first sight") I think the bit where he says "everything is going to be alright no matter what we do tonight" refers to how this girl makes him feel so good to be with her that it doesnt matter whether they screw each other's brains out tonight or jst cuddle and shit. I think Steve is also trying to express how casual sex is now ("new kind of lingo" "today it just goes with a fashion" bla bla") and its possble to put together sexual drive with love. Its definitely abt a break up gone wrong. He still feels either hung up on the girl or guilty cos its been years afterwards and he's still not happy ("colors seem to fade"...- everything is dull) Dont know who made the mistake but he's saying he understands it : We all got our faults We get locked in our voids And make mistakes Here he's acknowledging the fact we all need to fill in that certain "void" (lack of attention, lack of love (sexual perhaps or emotional) and thats when we make mistakes just to fill that void. I love how he uses the imagery of a parade to relate with time ("the years they parade"). He's trying to convey how time has now just gone on and on (or in other words, parading- kinda like mocking him) with nothing really making him happy. Great song. |
