| Bright Eyes – Contrast and Compare Lyrics

Someone asked if Conor was tight with his parents? Um, I think so. I think they might be divorced, but at one of his shows, he said both of his parents were there. So, I'm guessing Conor and his parents don't have eachother. Conor is obviously into drinking. I think he did coke because in Gold Mine Gutted, he sings "And all those white lines that sped us up. We hurry to our death. Well, I lagged behind, So you got ahead" So he possibly stopped, that's why he didn't (possibly die) go with the person who 'got ahead' He uses a lot of drug references in songs, like "And the smoke came out our mouths, On all those hooded sweatshirt walks " So he used to smoke something & "Let’s have a nice clean cut, Like a bag we buy and divvy up" So yeah. |

This song is so perfect.
"and I'll sit and wonder
of every love that could've been
if I'd only thought of something charming to say."
That part is my favorite, since it's true. |

simsfreg, someone probably cleared this up already, I don't know, but when September comes, it means schools coming. It's all about summer love and the memories, and how when summer ends, you're no longer together. It's an amazing song. |

I love this song but it's getting so popular and ugh.. But it's a great song. Especially "So brown eyes, I'll hold you near, 'Cause you're thee only song I want to hear. A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere." |

I didn't really read what anyone said so someone probably already said this but..
"I lost track and then those words were said,
You took the wheel and you steered us into my bed.
Soon we woke and I walked you home
And it was pretty clear that it was hardly love."
The words were probably "I love you" or such it's about sex, possibly losing your virginity?, and then realizing you didn't love her/him. I'm pretty sure. |

This song is really different than the rest of their stuff, but I think it's really good. It's just annoying how everyone knows it and stuff. Eh.. |

I love Andrew. I love this song. It's basically saying, in my opinion, that he'd do anything, even hurt himself, to free her from her pain. |

I love this song. It goes through life from when he was a kid and then a teen and then how he is now.
"At Cavanaugh Park
We used to get high
Watching teams as they fought
They loved my friend Adam
But he always got caught
Man, that kid made fucking up look cool
Aren't we all so cool now? No"
That's my favorite |

Yeah, he might mean "high" as in high on life, but I think there is a little bit of a drug reference in this, since he says "I need some of what you got." In Cavanaugh Park, he says "At Cavanaugh Park, We used to get high.." & in other songs he says things about that. So it's probably not just about high on life. |
