| Excellent song! Sure though it's "blond on blond"? Not "Blonde on Blonde" (capitalised too)? | |
| Vampire Weekend – I Think Ur a Contra Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| came here with the exact same question. dunno, "a contra" = a contradictory person? it's obviously about a love relationship that has come to an end (too early in the eyes of the lyricist), no? | |

| isn't it rather "You'll HAVE to take a little part of me" ? and i was thinking it's "and watch the riches they consume" (not rich as), but maybe i want to hear that. ;) wonderful song. | |

yes, very. ;) doesn't need to be deep though. gives a perfect definition of a groupie. jgladas, thanks, yes, makes sense, while i always thought it's "but you're cool, if you're twenty-five". i think i like the latter slightly better, but oh well. but then again, yes, maybe it is indeed about jesus. ;) |

very interesting discussion. very inspiring to read all the posts! i also like to think it's about missing an opportunity, or opportunities in general. and the lyrical i asking himself why he didn't call/write/do something.... it hasn't been mentioned, i think, and i'm not a native english speaker, but isn't it possible that "bow" refers to something like "bow to the inevitable", and "crooked" means "deceitful", like the opportunity has passed and it's too late, although only a while ago it seemed, as if lots of time was left? but i may be way off here. brilliant song! and i also like the jeff buckley-resemblance in his singing. although, it's a bit scary too. |
