| The Doors – Strange Days Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| The movie Strange Days always comes to mind when I hear this song.. It is based around a political scandal and the use of a memory re-experience device (drugs are now technological) at the turn of the century (Y2K.) You should check it out, awesome movie. | |
| The Velvet Underground – Sweet Jane Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| maybe it means something along the lines of: things are very simple and they're worth singing about (even if it takes some work.) And there's a lot of special people out there, a lot of absurdity, and a lot of you name it, but the life of any person, whoever they are, is a sweet thing. Sweet Jane!! | |

| Sonic Youth – Titanium Expose Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
As for the meaning of the title (sorry for doubl post): Titanium is hard and light. A definition of expose is: To subject or allow to be subjected to an action, influence, or condition. So, He could be allowing himself/exposing himself to become hard and getting light headed. |

| Sonic Youth – Titanium Expose Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think it's about a lady who left him, and he couldn't get turned on; he was "frozen" during "wintertime" which was triggered by her leaving. She comes bringing "summertime", making things hot again and turning him on. All of it's because of her; she's summer and winter. "sugar babe... do it to me... do me now" He's been waiting for that "funny feeling" sex? Or maybe it's all about drugs(the lyrics fit for both). but "I don't know, it's a mystery to reckon with" | |
| The Strokes – Automatic Stop Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
"didn't understand what to see yeah, then I got a different view, it's you... no" (there is another "no" or two in the song (I think after one of the "i'm not your friend, I never was" stanzas) The "no"(s) might signify that that from the view of the "you" person, the things the singer is saying in this song are wrong. |

| Iggy Pop – The Passenger Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Is the car alive? | |
| Iggy Pop – The Passenger Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Iggy is saying: The universe is a car and I (the self) am the only passenger, but the same is true for you (your self). "I stay under glass" (I can't leave the car/universe). "he see things from under glass" The things seen through the windows are tied to the car. "we'll be the passenger" and "let's see what's mine" signify that there is only one passenger (living being) and that's me; everything else is a property of the car. But since another person is talking about the passenger "he sees" "he rides" it is the universe talking (something that you the listener sense from under glass) and you are the passenger since only the self can be the passenger. Iggy is thus saying: both you (the listener of the song) and I (myself) are the passenger, which is why he uses "you and me" and "yours and mine." |

| Grateful Dead – Franklin's Tower Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Here are some possible meanings for words used in the song (from dictionary.com) Wallflower: -A security, company, or industry that is out of favor with investors. -In general terms, a wallflower is somebody who remains on the sidelines of a social activity. The financial sense of the word is very similar. This type of stock is often neglected by research analysts and, as a result, doesn't get much attention from investors. For this reason, many believe that wallflowers are undiscovered bargains. Dew: -Moisture, as in the form of tears or perspiration, that appears in small drops. -abbreviation for distant, early warning (DEW) Franklin: -A medieval English freeholder of ignoble birth holding extensive property. Perhaps Franklin's tower is the property of some ignoble person living "in another time's forgotten space" (a medieval town or land). The child of the story could be this ignoble person's child. Could the child be the wallflower seed? The four winds mentiond in this song remind me of the song "Four Strong Winds," which is about farmers trying to find a new home for work. The song was made in the early 60's. "roll away the dew" could mean wipe away your tears or have something to do with some sort of (warning) bell. |

| Cake – World Of Two Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
" I don't want to Hear you whisper I don't want to orbit Your world of two" This might mean that even when I am not standing with you, I am glued to you (or on some sort of leash) because I have to do/be what you want. "I don't like to Hang around you I don't want to Live in your world Of two" seems to has similar meaning as above. "It's not that I don't like you But it's not that I don't love you It's not that I don't think you are Two of the most Perfectly Beautiful People in your world" Perhaps what he's trying to say is that when I'm with you, there is no me except the me that sticks to you. "two of the most perfectly beautiful people in your world" When I talk about me, I'm talking about you, and when I talk about you, I'm talking about you, so there are two of you to talk about. I like the last lines "There's only room for you." because they end the album. Maybe this is a way of saying that when I'm with you, I cannot do any more of what I love to do (make music). |

| Red Hot Chili Peppers – Road Trippin' Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It seems as if this song is comparing the good (high) feeling of living a new life in the world (without drugs) to taking drugs. I think it basically means: when I'm high, I'm road trippin' and when I'm road trippin', I'm high. Looks like there are lots of double meanings. | |
