Foo Fighters – Tiny Dancer (Elton John cover) Lyrics 19 years ago
The original is one of the best songs of its genre. This cover is so insulting and the guys come across as self obsessed ignorant fools who are a disgrace to their music generation, in terms of musical respect.
"A song actually I don't think I'd ever heard until I saw... Almost Famous" COME ON! You don't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as Elton John - and I'm not a huge Elton fan.
"You know let's skip all the other crap and just get to the chorus, like on that bus scene" - and there you go. How can you do a cover of a song that you don't understand, or appreciate, or hell a song you probably haven't listened to the rest of the lyrics of.

Gerry Rafferty – Baker Street Lyrics 19 years ago
myimmortal I was thinking along those lines too... most songs the familiar part is the chorus, whereas here the chorus, or the strong repetitive lines that you identify the song with is the sax... and WOW.
this song is pure bliss for me. as a friend of mine puts it, 'baby-making music'. reminicent of dave matthews band stuff in my opinion.
As for the lyrics - they're not the strength of the song. What's to figure out is the emotion behind that riff - soulful, hurt? in love? pain or pleasure? away from home or just returned? damn i love this song.
