It could have something to do with it, ecspecially since the story pertains to sleep. El Cielo itself seems to be about sleep during some key songs, like "Scissorlock" for example. Or it could be entirely unrelated! :D |

| I think the comments about drug addiction are on target. "Stoned, solid grey"? Sounds like a drug user to me. | |
| Lamb of God – Laid to Rest Lyrics | 19 years ago |

The blood's on the wall, so you'd might as well just admit it And bleach out the stains, commit to forgetting it You're better off empty and blank, than left with a single pathetic trace of this Smother another failure, lay this to rest -Saying that religion as a whole is false and that it's better to forget all about faith, judgement in the afterlife, etc. Console yourself, you're better alone Destroy yourself, see who gives a fuck Absorb yourself, you're better alone Destroy yourself -You're wasting your time looking to God to comfort, there is no God. The lyrics on the next line can be interpreted as "IF YOU Destroy yourself, see who gives a fuck." It basically means that you won't be judged for your actions in life as far as making a mess out of yourself goes, not by God anyways. I'll chain you to the truth, for the truth shall set you free I'll turn the screws of vengeance and bury you with honesty I'll make all your dreams come to life, then slay them as quickly as they came Smother another failure, lay this to rest -The first and third line of this verse look like they could be written from the view of the false God. The truth will set you free, but I'm chaining you to a set of values that you have to follow. I'll make you believe in salvation and then disappoint you in death. There is no heaven or hell. See who gives a fuck See who gives a fuck -Not God. No god. |

| Silverchair – Emotion Sickness Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Scooter Mcfee, you do realize you just described addiction right? But that's beside the point. "Distorted eyes, when everything is clearly dying" He is on drugs of some kind, and he has enough of his senses left over to be able to tell that things are going bad, but his perceptions are distorted. The piano in this song is what makes it. |

| Mastodon – March of the Fire Ants Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
What I imagine when I hear the song and lyrics is a planet Earth that is completely dried up due to global warming caused by pollution. Mankind is nearly completely extinct, and they wander aimlessly across the desert Earth, in search of water. When they finally find water, it is yellow and highly contaminated with decay and toxins, but they are grateful to drink from it. Yeah, I have quite the imagination. |

| Mastodon – Blood & Thunder Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Oh man, what an amazing song. I haven't read Moby Dick yet, but I fully plan on it after listening to Leviathan. Mastodon managed to write the lyrics to the album much like a good novel. Albums and books both have to grab your attention, and I have seen multiple people stop in their tracks when I start playing this song. The opening riff and the line "I think that someone is trying to kill me." basically forces you to sit down, shut up, and immerse yourself in one of the best metal songs in ages. P.S. Brann Dailor is a drumming god. |

| Opeth – Demon Of The Fall Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Oh man, like so many other Opeth songs this one is just so haunting. When he growls out "You keep the dagger close at hand." and then "And you saw nothing." I just get the sense of fear because Akerfeldt writes such good lyrics and he can practically pull you into the scenes that he depicts in them. That feeling of being helpless against something you can't even see is just breath taking. | |
| Red Hot Chili Peppers – Catholic School Girls Rule Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| As a lover of many Catholic School Girls, how can you not enjoy this song throughly? I think of all the girls in nice little plaid skirts everytime I hear it. | |
| Red Hot Chili Peppers – Road Trippin' Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I think this song is about taking a road trip with your best friends and eventually growing tired of eachother's prescence. These Smiling eyes are just a mirror for the sun. To me that just means that eventually everyone is ready to go home and every smile is made with the thought of longing to be alone and at home behind it. |

| Red Hot Chili Peppers – Around the World Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I thimk this song kinda deals with Anthony falling in love with places he's been, not girls he's been with. Sure, girls are part of nearly every RHCP song, but I just think he's using women as a metaphor for locations this time. | |
| Alice in Chains – Rain When I Die Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think these lyrics are jus stating that no one besides who this song is about will care when he dies, or at least that's how it seems to him. Afterall, the band is from Seattle. What happens in Seattle alot? Rain. Just another day, just another man dead. | |
