"They'll never listen 'Cause their minds are made up" these lines made me think of how kids views these days are pre-formed... how no matter how much you tell them the cliche things like 'be true to yourself' they can't understand, cause their minds have been pumped full of the crap that the media and/or whatever scene they follow has told them to believe.... love this song. sad but true |

this is for sure one of my favourite song right now... it compares a love-hate relationship with a teenage girl and her abusive father (as well as the general "run-away" feeling that teenagers get) with bands, fame, marriage, 'the good old days' and the end of good things... it also makes me think that by comparing a father-daughter relationship to all the bands and their careers, marriage, etc, they're showing how things go bad. i mean your dad is supposed to be there, but he beats her, and bands get into huge fights... i dunno... it's still one of my favourites. ESPECIALLY the line "speak now or forever hold you piece in pieces" agreed with all the shouts to elliott, JEW, Weezer, PF, and BUckley.... what a song :D |
