@joetheshow, I love the guitar there as well. I wish I knew what this song was about. It seems all over the place and simultaneously abstract. |

I think it's about the regret one feels after a loss, but more specifically trying to cope. The words "It's not in the" are repeated many times. It makes me think he's searching for something, but all his memories aren't doing it for him. They don't satisfy him like the real living person did. Great song. |

All this song does is clip. Clip, clip, clip like an overcompressed overly-loud piece of crap. I love the song, I just hope they don't ruin their sound by partaking in this loudness war. |

I think it's from the perspective of an ex-boyfriend. He is quite literally stalking his ex in the mall and seeing that she is buying a lot of stuff, including the red dress later mentioned, in order to ease the pain of the breakup. It goes on to expose that although the new boyfriend may be happy the women herself is still troubled, jaded, and relatively unhappy with herself. I agree, Emily Haines' voice is beautiful. |

| "cap in hand" is an idiom meaning submissively. Imagine what is going on in the lyrics, you've probably experienced it at some point in your life where one partner gets violent/angry while the other one sees this and does anything to win their favor to calm them down. | |
| Regina Spektor – Us Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I was watching History Channel about Stock Exchange and a guy said it was "no longer a den of thieves." I googled den of thieves stock exchange and came up with a book on Amazon titled "Den of Thieves" that illustrates the 1980s trading scandals. It's something to consider. Capitalism is often spread, qualifying it as "contagious." Take it as you wish. |

| Sufjan Stevens – John Wayne Gacy, Jr. Lyrics | 19 years ago |

The song is absolutely stunningly beautiful. It exposes the facade of all people, that we hide our faults "beneath the floor boards." In knowing that all people have fault, we are able to empathize with Gacy. Ironically, the song itself is gorgeous, yet the lyrics describe such a heinous act. |
