Black Sabbath – Shadow of the Wind Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I've heard this song is about addictions. But it can be interpreted as a slam against Ozzy. We are all aware of Ozzy's addiction problems, hence this song. Note the verses after the first chorus. Well I'm back and stronger (this is DIO talking of himself in Sabbath again) And the first one's always free And it lasts much longer You can bet your sanity (Ozzy's sanity is unaccounted for) |
Led Zeppelin – No Quarter Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I think that this song could be related to the historic battle, i dont quite remember if it was WWI or WWII, but that day when the German army tried to invade Russian territory and they couldn´t because of the weather. GUess what? it was winter, and that also kind of explains the reference to Thor, norse and germanic god of thunder. |
Rainbow – Kill The King Lyrics | 16 years ago |
The best song on the album!!!!!!!!!!!! Kill the King could be a song influenced by history... The lyrics of this song are similar to the events on France at the end of the 18th. The Storming of the Bastille Prision in 1791 preceded the attempted escape to Austria of KING LOUIS XVI ("Fly like the wind I'm no pawn, so be gone, speed on and on") The last verses are revealing the people's anger that was so palpable on the french revolution that led to the King's guillotine execution in 1793. "The people roar Kill the King Take his head" Even if it was not written intended to mean all this, it still sounds awsome, a song about resistance and freedom! |
Iced Earth – The Pierced Spirit Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Interesting... However i must say that this coud be kind of an interlude between Creator Faliure ant Dante's Inferno, cronologically and naratively. Y ou see, many people believe that Satan is feeling sorry for the Revolution in Heaven. This song could mean Satan's lamentation, for he is also a pierced spirit, theorically. |
Iced Earth – Melancholy (Holy Martyr) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Th idea of this song being only about Jesus's sacrifice (suicide) is simplistic. In this song you can see the lives of hundreds of martyrs who have died for a very unapreciated cause. This is the voice of those martyrs speaking to their ungrateful followers, for instance: Jesus, Ghandi, Pedro Albizu Campos (if you don't know who's this, look it up) and all the people fighting for an unapreciated cause. |
Avenged Sevenfold – Seize The Day Lyrics | 17 years ago |
they sound like fucking guns and roses!!!!!!!!! still, it's an amazingly brilliant track |
Cradle of Filth – Rise of the Pentagram Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Definitely, Thornography is one of their greatest albums, musicwise. They are exploring new sounds, more melodic riffs and vocals etc. Remember that speed is not everything you know. Lyricwise, i would have to say: Dusk and Her embrce and Midian. But don't get me wrong, all their work kicks ass. |
Cradle of Filth – The Foetus Of A New Day Kicking Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Megadeth – Back In The Day Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Iced Earth – The Reckoning (Don't Tread On Me) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i totally agree with UnNatural Suicide. Note the part when it says, "This time is for blood, dont tread on me" this war against iraq and terrorism (can you define terrorism?) is just a lust for blood man, or should we say " Destiny's called us it's the reckoning This time it's for petroleum, Don't tread on me |
Iced Earth – Something Wicked (Trilogy) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
this is about the coming of the antichrist or wahtever you want to call it. the coming of the end. |
Iced Earth – My Own Savior Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is obviously about suicide. Note the line "my only comfort is in death". Remember who is suposedly our savior, Jesus, who is coming to take us all to prosperity in heaven. Well he's waiting for no Jesus, he's his own savior "I'm my own savior". Notice the last two lines before the end chorus " there is no choice that i see, in raging flames the dark one awaits". Where do all suicides go, according to the tradition in christianism? There is your interpretation. |
