| Krypteria – Scream Lyrics

I think there might be a little more to it...
consider
"I don't need no sympathy just a little honesty"
versus
"I scream yet no one around seems to care about me"
These seem like contradictory lines, but I'm sure that's intentional. It almost gives the impression of someone who wants to be cared about and listened to, and no one cares or listens... and the person's reaction is to act tough and project an image of flippant, uncaring strength; yet deep down, they still have the sensitive need to be cared about that is still being unattended to. Hence the screaming. |

After puzzling through the Latin, my (barely informed and entirely unprofessional) translation is:
"Darkness, pestilence, and evil, (to/upon) you I wish - misery and pain (be) with you" |

| Kamelot – Alexandria Lyrics

Alexander the Great was a Greek conqueror.
If you're saying the "something wrong" is referring to Alexandria being "to delight Poseidon" despite being "in Egypt," well, there's nothing wrong there. Delighting Poseidon would be a reference to the Greek culture/religion of Alexander and his people, since he was the one who founded the city, and has nothing to do with the religion of the ancient Egyptians. |

| Kamelot – The Fourth Legacy Lyrics

There IS one part of the lyrics that does have "guided by the rising morning star" (or what sounds like it anyway), but it's the first instance of that bridge, instead of the second like it currently is now.
So it's not so much an incorrect lyric as much as a misplaced one; the second lines in the first and second bridge should be switched. |

Makes me think of a grievously wounded soldier asking one of his fellows to hold his guts in for him or something. Pretty grim. |

IQ, I agree about "ruins of an army," but I think the second line is "Axis rest in hell," not "fascists." |

A song about Geralt of Rivia, the main character of the video game The Witcher (and more specifically, I suppose, also about his sword). |

These lyrics are incorrect--they appear to actually be the lyrics to Minions of the Watch, off of the same album. |

Hmmm... the way the vocalist says the line "be quick or be dead" reminds me of the Iron Maiden song. Given their propensity to reference other metal songs/bands in songs like Metal Crue and Metal Machine, I wonder if this is deliberate? |

The "Maid of Orleans" was a title for Joan of Arc. So I guess that would make the song about her, hence all the stuff about the voices of the saints and fighting the English and being burned at the stake and whatnot. I really like this song, very compelling. |

Seems to be about a demon, or maybe an evil man, cursing the god that created him and everything else, and placing the responsibility for his evil nature on his creator. Which could make sense, since a number of religions place the concept of predestination above the concept of free will, in which case the Big Guy In Charge would be to blame for everyone and everything evil. |

| Arch Enemy – I Am Legend / Out for Blood Lyrics

This song is based off of the horror story I Am Legend by Richard Matheson, which is basically about all humans on earth turning into vampires except for one man. The book was more about the one remaining human, and how that he dealt with the situation, but the song here seems to be from the vampires' perspective. Good stuff all in all. |
