i dont think its about two people at all. i think it has to do with the feeling of fall coming along. everything is beautiful but the cold brings something empty to you. you feel like you need someone but you dont feel like you're even there.
butthats a personal interpretation having to do with how i feel. which is what one should do with a song like this. |

i actually finally get this song. its two different times. almost like he wrote two different songs. he thought it was something delicate and private that they had, only kissing when no one was there, and he was making it right in his mind. almost like he was explaining to someone who was trying to tell him she was using him, but he was too in love to see that. then the chorus is the truth. i mean you have to substitute singing a song for making love but that makes sense too if you think about it. |

oh and one more thing. to the first comment. they dont love damien rice instead of him. damien rice is amazing beyond words but the frames are different. basically i think if you love damien rice theres no way you cant love the frames. but thats just my opinion. my other opinion is that the first comment guy is a prick and is full of himself. thats my other opinion. i only have 2 though |

What does this song mean to you? wel since u asked
i fell in love with this girl and honestly i love this sog. there's a lyric frm aother song that says"here in my hideaway i'm alright, safe in this song with you" and thats how alot of thins are of me. no matter how bad something is and how much i feel like freaking out and ending everything, i, like, hide away in my guitar. (the song was 'smalltime blues' by pete drodge or something and its in almost famous) and here's another lyric from a different song to back up what i just said,"sing a sad song, make it better"
so thats what this song means so me, since u all asked....(its also awesome that the girl singer is the girl he was infatuated with. but it was only infatuation and thats sort of stupid to me because he didnt even fall in love with her.(being in love is a mutual thing no doubt)) so yeah. anyone who reads this and maybe wants to talk about it should contact me. all my shit is on this site on my profile. :) |

lynyrd is really not a good band. sort of boring honestly. i do like the solo in freebird, and soem of the lyrics, but i cn't really stand any of their other stuff. maybe u have to grow up with it but its really not my dig. southern rock huh...i like that one ram jam song haha ever since blow er w/e. or maybe i heard it before that..i'm pretty sure i did but e/r its a funny song. ANYWAY, if a band like skynrd can do anything like"white summer_black mountainside" then i'll bother thinking about comparing hte two. but really skynard is an OK(at best) jam band but zeppelin was just so much more together. they're communication was way better than skynard. WAAYY better.
also i dont like clapton's stuff very much. duno why, but he just doesnt do it for me. |
