| U2 – Elvis Presley And America Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
Like most (all?) U2 lyrics, I believe that this song is about Jesus. Especially towards the end of the song: (And you wipe sweat off your white brow) And you care And no one told you tried And your heart Is left out from the side When Jesus was on the cross and his brow was wiped, and when he died, they pierced his side and water and blood came out. After, it began to be raining and storming and the earth opened up: And the rain beats down And the shame goes down And this rain keeps on coming down He then joins God in Heaven: You know "S" "O" "N" "G", why You're going go join to God I'm not sure if it's coming from the angle of Bono/Mankind struggling to be with Jesus or from the point of view of one of his apostles who was with him, witnessing this, who is now saddened and scared that he has gone to Heaven, and feeling abandoned (prior to the Resurrection). Anyway, that is how I see it. |

| U2 – Drowning Man Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Throw in when Jesus told Peter to walk on water to meet him to show his faith. Peter was a symbol for mankind and our struggle to have faith. Peter took his eyes of Jesus and noticed the stormy waters and began to sink. Jesus takes his hand and the storm stops and they return to the boat. | |
| U2 – A Sort Of Homecoming Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Going to heaven. A "sort of" homecoming. Across the fields of mourning Lights in the distance She will die and live again Tonight Oh, don't sorrow, no don't weep For tonight, at last I am coming home I am coming home Just beautiful |

| U2 – Surrender Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Like 95% of U2's songs, it has strong Christian lyrics. Similar to what dogarecool wrote, I believe it is man's struggle to keep the difficult Christian laws set forth. The line "If I want to live I've got to die to myself one day" is straight from the Bible when Jesus says to gain eternal life you have to die to yourself and carry your own cross | |
| Lauryn Hill – To Zion Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| There are few songs that move me to tears but this is one of them. A woman who puts her family and ultimately a life before fame and money. Much respect to Lauryn! This song could be a Pro Life anthem. | |
| Steely Dan – Babylon Sisters Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Story takes place in L.A. and is about juggling multiple women at the same time. Sounds killer in headphones, especially when each girl sings "Tell me I'm the only one" out of different speakers. | |
