Yes, it blows me to... I like the part "And if the Thames weren’t so filthy I would jump into the river and drown"... you can feel his misery and sadnes and dissapointment... but we all feel it, and we question our relationships, and it doesen't mean you've stopped loving him/her - that's why he says "Don’t be afraid Come on down I’m just sitting here thinking loud" - and that's the reason I love this song. |

At the very begining it seems like a love song, he found a woman of his life ("the ring is locked upon the finger" - marriage, he will no longer be alone...) But then again... what's with the "And no more shall we part Your chain of command has been silenced now..."? And why is he saying that he's not free? On what kind of freedom is he refering to? Please! Someone! :) |

| Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds – Death is Not the End (Bob Dylan cover) (feat. PJ Harvey, Shane MacGowan& Kylie Minogue) Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I think this song was supposed to make you feel BETTER - all this misery and pain is not everything you're getting from this life-death thing, there's something better after death, it's not the end. And it definitly isn't a message to commit siucide (because there are better things after life), 'cause to gain that after life, you have to endure all good and bad things in this one - he mentiones "bright light of salvation"... |
