New Found Glory – Radiosurgery Lyrics 14 years ago
The "I can't control things out of my head" is actually "I can't get your face out of my head".

Senses Fail – Lifeboats Lyrics 15 years ago
One of my favorite tracks on the new record. I get chills during that "breakdown" of sorts, beginning with "ever since I've been a young boy I was alone"

A Day to Remember – 2nd Sucks Lyrics 15 years ago
I'm liking the new stuff quite a bit, both this and "All I Want", but I have to admit I'm quite disappointed lyrically. Not to say "Homesick" was a lyrical masterpiece by any means, but it definitely felt personal and heartfelt. Both songs released thus far just sound like generic rock lyrics, to be honest.

Breaking Benjamin – Without You Lyrics 16 years ago
While I'd like to think Ben had some purposeful meaning in writing this song (and everything on Dear Agony), I can't help but feel the whole batch of writing was just scribbled quickly in an effort to get an album out. In fact, with the incredibly quick turnaround on this album, it feels to me like the band simply doesn't care.

A Day to Remember – If It Means a Lot to You (feat. Sierra Kusterbeck) Lyrics 16 years ago
Truly one of the most powerful, emotional songs I've ever heard. I get chills each and every time I listen to it, especially when the "La La La"'s kick in at the end.

A Day to Remember is an excellent band, and unfortunately its easy to pass judgment on them and lump them in without a lot of other bands in their genre these days, but songs like this set them far apart and high above everyone else.

Paramore – Ignorance Lyrics 16 years ago
I wish the band the absolute best in their supposed struggle to get along and stay together, but honestly, I think I like Hayley a lot better when she's angry.

These lyrics show incredible growth for the band as a whole, and for Hayley as a writer. I absolutely loved "All We Know is Falling", and "Riot!" killed a lot of my interest in Paramore, but this song gives me so much hope for the new album. This is, without question, as far as I'm concerned, the band's best effort to date.

Chevelle – Jars Lyrics 16 years ago
Nice job putting this together, I was having a hard time with it. I think you've got the majority of it right, but one thing I thought I heard differently...

In the chorus, I think he may say...

We can't both become
the same pawn that's made to fall

There's also something else said in the "stole...some from me to you" line, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

Also, at the end...

This world, we've had enough of the world
its the main you'll show 'till the bitter end
into jars

I don't think that second line is right, but thats all I could get out of it.

Song itself is growing on me, though. First listen through I wasn't a fan but its definitely got me excited for the album.

Fall Out Boy – 27 Lyrics 17 years ago
Is it just me, or does it feel like nearly the entire album has a ton of drug references? Thats kind of unlike Fall Out Boy.

I'm holding off on listening to the whole album until the 16th, but I'm picking and choosing tracks on the MySpace leak to check out. To be honest, it feels like what they put out on iTunes may be the best on the album - I haven't been too impressed with anything else thus far, neither musically, or lyrically.

Fall Out Boy – What a Catch, Donnie Lyrics 17 years ago
Just to add to what I said, it is very rare that I point out a song right off and say its the best of the album. I haven't even heard the album yet and I can more or less tell you this is it.

Lyrically, it is one of the most powerful songs Fall Out Boy has ever written. Musically, it may be their strongest effort ever. It brings about a kind of emotion I've never seen out of FOB before, and thats a very, very good thing.

I'm almost disappointed that I heard this song before the album came out. This seems like one of those hidden gems you have to hear within the context of the album (especially with the throwback lyrics) for it to really work. I can only imagine how powerful it may prove to be in that fashion. I just don't want to overplay it before the album drops.

Incredible, no question. If this was the last song Fall Out Boy ever wrote, I could totally accept it.

I'm absolutely crushed that isn't the album closer, though.

If this isn't the last song on the album, I have no idea what the hell they're thinking.

Fall Out Boy – Headfirst Slide Into Cooperstown on a Bad Bet Lyrics 17 years ago
I'd like to add that as much as I try to dislike Fall Out Boy for what they've become, I can't turn my back on them because they continuously reinvent themselves in a positive way and continue making catchy, witty and all around smart pop-rock music.

I still can't bring myself to like Pete, though. I've lost all respect for the guy in the last couple of years - he's everything Fall Out Boy never represented in their earlier days.

Patrick is one of my favorite musicians these days, though.

Fall Out Boy – I Don't Care Lyrics 17 years ago
The song is growing on me, but its not really the Fall Out Boy I came to love. Their current image and portrayal by the media, especially Pete Wentz, makes me sick. I stick with these guys for Patrick and company, not Pete.

The lyrics are, as always, very tongue-in-cheek and witty, I doubt Fall Out Boy will ever lose that style. I just hope they don't fully abandon the TTTYG style that made me like them so much in the first place.

Its funny to think to think how long ago it was now that I discovered "Grand Theft Autumn" and all of my friends simply said, 'Fall Out who?"

Sparks The Rescue – Autumn Lyrics 17 years ago
Few corrections...

instead of "How'd you get from point A to B", its...
"How to get from point A to B"

and

instead of "A way through all these dancing times", its...
"A way through all these damn state signs"

Theory of a Deadman – End of the Summer Lyrics 17 years ago
Great song, very powerful. I know it's about the end of a summer, but I identify with it in a more permanent way, that being, graduating from high school and spending that one final summer with your friends.

Anyone know the meaning behind "..forty eight ways to say...", maybe it's something insanely obvious and I'm just thinking too hard, but it's been bugging me

Cartel – The Fortunate Lyrics 18 years ago
I'm not all that impressed to be honest. I love "Lose It" but the two other songs on this EP sample aren't doing it for me at all. Sounds way too poppy in comparison to Chroma.

Looks like Cartel may be in for a sophomore slump.

Evans Blue – Caught a Lite Sneeze (Tori Amos cover) Lyrics 18 years ago
The line "I need a big loan from a girl zone" strikes me as such a cool lyric, a tiny bit comical, but I can't quite put a finger on what it's actually referring to.

Just starting to listen to the new album, awesome opener. Hopefully the rest of the album follows suit.

Puddle of Mudd – Famous Lyrics 18 years ago
After listening a few more times, I guess I can hear the "F-F-Famous as well".

That and, the more I listen, the more I tend to think it's "playboy bunnies" not "favorite buddies". I can't hear "look up and it's happened" either, but I can't make out what he actually says.

Cartel – Lose It Lyrics 18 years ago
It sounds something like..

Immediately we find out then
that I can be blamed for this
but failure just figured out today
that you're so sweet, you say

but that really doesn't make much sense..

Cartel – Lose It Lyrics 18 years ago
The song has grown on me a ton, I've been listening to it almost non-stop since iTunes put it up yesterday.

It's a little different from the older stuff, I can tell already that I'm going to be partial to "Chroma", but this isn't half bad for being thrown together in about three days inside the bubble.

submissions
Puddle of Mudd – Famous Lyrics 18 years ago
As someone as said, Puddle of Mudd took the high society feel of Nickelback's "Rockstar" and did it 10 times better.

I'm not necessarily a HUGE fan of either band, but I'll definitely be giving their new album a listen, because I enjoy this song a ton.

Am I the only on, though, who hears, rather than "f-f-famous" at the end, "I fucking hate myself"?

submissions
The Starting Line – Direction Lyrics 18 years ago
According to The Starting Line's PureVolume page, the lyric is "Well you should have known that this boy wasn't grown" not "true", but I don't think it sounds even remotely like "grown".

The Starting Line – Island (Float Away) Lyrics 18 years ago
Love the song, not sure if I like it quite as much as "Direction" but still, great stuff, can't wait for the new album.

Seems to follow the style of TSL's older stuff, not that that's a bad thing, though "Direction" sort of strayed away a bit. Nice choice for a single

Seems like it could be about Kenny envisioning a perfect situation with a person that has potential of falling apart, though I'm obviously only scratching the surface.

Lyrics look completely right, other than, "if we survive and I'm alive" sounds like "if we survive, get out alive"

The Starting Line – Direction Lyrics 18 years ago
My lyrics are likely off a bit, the quality on myspace makes it hard to catch some stuff. As soon as I get a better version, I'll fix this.

Box Car Racer – Cat Like Thief Lyrics 18 years ago
As someone else said, I think you can sort of hear Jordan faintly in the background at the very end. You'd think he'd be more distinguishable, because Jordan has a one of a kind voice, but his vocals must be really faded.

Chevelle – Well Enough Alone Lyrics 19 years ago
I don't think the song is about Joe Loeffler, as the song was actually written about five years ago, as someone else mentioned.

Fall Out Boy – Thriller Lyrics 19 years ago
The second verse sounds to me like..

I can take your problems away
If I'm not in the way of my head
'Cause thats just the cover boy that I am

I could be wrong, though. Makes more sense.

Fall Out Boy – This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race Lyrics 19 years ago
Some of the responses are absolutely ridiculous. What happened to just liking a song because you like the song? Am I not allowed to enjoy a song or a band anymore without being labeled by a certain stereotype, or god forbit, "scene". God what a joke.

submissions
Killswitch Engage – This Fire Burns Lyrics 19 years ago
For those who don't know, this was originally written as the theme song of the WWE wrestler, Randy Orton. WWE then decided not to use it for Randy and used it for one of their Pay-Per-View events instead. It's a shame, 'cause it really fit Orton.

I'm not sure of Killswitch took the inspiration from Orton himself, or Jim Johnston of WWE gave them a direction and they just went with it.

Hoobastank – Moving Forward Lyrics 19 years ago
I think this song is pretty clearly about moving forward in life, and growing up and making decisions on your own and being afraid of moving on, something everyone usually feels. Most of the songs on this album seem to be really self-explanatory, but they all come off really well. Very inspirational album.
