This is a cover of the Kelly Clarkson song as well as Maps by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. I heard that he based in on a mash-up that he heard of the two songs. It's fantastic. Simple song with only an acoustic guitar and Ted singing but he combines the two songs to create a pleasing and euphonic song. |

This is one of the greatest songs I've ever heard. No cover can truly capture the hopeless emotion of the original. I read somewhere that Blake Schwarzenbach recorded Kiss the Bottle shortly before having surgery to remove a polyp on his vocal folds. As for this brilliant song, its about a rough area where Blake used to live. In his own words, "It was a pretty hard luck little block. It's still like the major kind of heroin zone. There was a lot of fucked up shit going on there." |

An average cover... Blake Schwarzenbach raspy vocals on the original is what makes it such a great song. Anyone that likes this should check out the original. I think you would be amazed by the difference. A decent cover of this song is by Lucero. Kudos to the Foo Fighters for trying but it just doesn't work. |

This is a very good 'cover' song, if you can call it that. It's based off the Barry McGuire hit (which is itself a cover). The chorus is borrowed but changed and it's fresher than the original. This song is about sticking together until the bitter end. |
