I really wish i could delete that comment. i'm so dumb it's amazing.
i thought about this song one day when i was riding in the backseat of my friend's car, with his girlfriend in the front where they started fondling. great feeling, i just LOVE it when people do that. i'll never ride with THEM again. |

sounds like he's trying to sell drugs.
"service after sales, No muss, no fuss, no spills, you're tired of kitchen drudgery, it slices it dices and it lasts a lifetime, it forges your signature and gives you excuses for the lipstick on your collar. it's a friend, a companion, and gives you denture breath, etc etc etc etc."
so tom's a drug salesman now... |

they are the roots of radicals at age 15. they sound like they're just talking about life at their young age and maybe how music influenced them. rude girl carol was probably a girl that one of them liked. blurry vision could mean crying, like he was rejected or something. the reggae music gave them the "boot" that they needed to do something new with music-and their music is unique because of that. the roots of radicals. |

it seems that this site is so big, but i think that there aren't enough members, because i've been surprised to see a lot of songs that went without comment, and even that there were so many songs and artists that haven't even been submitted yet.
good song. |

i think that i needed to actually read this in order to understand it. i think she's talking about (possibly) a boyfriend that she broke up with. and he seems to think that she feels bad that she broke up with him and he's got a chip on his shoulder and he thinks that she might regret her actions but she's saying that she doesn't. i've met people like that. people who think that they are better than everybody else... |

i can't believe no one has commented on this.
i first heard this song done by bob seger and i was impressed that he could write something so tasteful. then i found out who REALLY wrote this one. better version too. it seems he's writing about how relationships, or marriages can grow sour. maybe he's talking about two people who have grown old together, and that's exactly what happened to them. they need to do something to make them feel young again.
or maybe it's even deeper. |

| Tom Waits – Mr. Siegal Lyrics

|
i read somewhere that mr. siegal is a reference to a gangster from the early 1900s. but what does this song mean? "you got to tell me brave captain, why are the wicked so strong." i think he's talking to god in this line. it's almost as if he's questioning god. he doesn't know why "the wicked are so strong." it's a good argument. |

tom and susan are perfect together in this. pretty straightforward song. if you've ever had those days where you just sit and reminisce, where you're in a sentimental mood, the song would mean a lot. |

this song is perfect. seems like he's had some hard days in his life, just needed to go for a drive.
also sounds like he's dying. "and you and i meet the sky." |

it seems that tom is very straight-forward in his songs, yet i still have no idea what this one means... i guess he's saying somebody pulled a restraining order on him. |

| Bruce Springsteen – Rosalita (Come Out Tonight) Lyrics

when i first heard this song, it immediately reminded me of Billy Joel's "Only the good die young." it sounds like bruce is trying to get a girl to "come out". one could draw a parallel between the character Rosalita and Virginia in Joel's song. |
