| oh this is such a beautiful mesmerizing mysterious song. the notes sound very eastern-european to me, i'm surprised she's from scotland. then again, she didn't write the notes themselves. i love the way she sings the lines "gentle impulsion, shakes me makes me lighter" but that has nothing to do with the lyrics. they're delicate but sad, to me. and i agree with a lot of hte people who've said about teardrops not doing anything to put a fire out. i love this :). | |

i know i'm about three & a half years too late in saying this, but sebastianguilt, come on... i agree with LittleBriddie - "what does this song mean to -you-"? i'm sure you're very happy that you're the first person who's uncovered the real meaning behind this song, but your self-congratulation is neither wanted nor needed here, thankyou. a little less of the "THANK YOU! NO MORE COMMENTS HERE PLEASEE!!!!!" would be appreciated :). but anyway! mrs robinson. what an interesting song! it's so chirpy and has such lovely harmonies but i'd only really thought about the more sinister meaning today, and i've been listening to s&g since i was very small! i think it is about not being truthful to yourself and hiding behind a facade rather than drugs or alcohol problems but i think the mental institute idea is interesting. more thoughts please! |

i'm surprised nobody has commented this! this is fantastic, the drum beats at the start are so powerful and his voice is fantastic. still i realise this is a lyric site. is it "cool war kids are running out of time" on the second line, "we're out of luck this time, we've fallen apart" for the chorus, and i'm not sure what the eighth line is but is it "warming skies" or "warning scars" or something? it doesn't sound like "war this time." i'm sure "feeds of figures running through the stream" isn't right but i can't catch those words either. still, such a lovely song. |
