The Goo Goo Dolls – Name Lyrics 19 years ago
OMG!!! Can you ppl NOT read? Read my post above from RZEZNIK HIMSELF...I think the WRITER would have a pretty good idea of WHAT he wrote. Everyone here is so concerned with what they think they have to say that they don't care for the truth. Get over yourselves, enjoy the music, AND LISTEN TO THE ARTIST WHEN THEY TALK!

The Goo Goo Dolls – Name Lyrics 19 years ago
Here it is straight from the Horses Proverbial Mouth! This is from a Guitar World Interview...

"GW: Was "Name" written about anyone in particular?
RZEZNIK: No. I don't know what half the shit I write is about. Sometimes,
years later, I might hear an old song of mine and realize, "Oh, that's what
that's about." But at the time of writing it, I'm too deeply involved to have
that kind of perspective. As far as I can tell, though, "Name" is about having
the inevitable regrets that come with growing up. With every decision you make
in your life, you're going to have some regrets about which way it goes. You
just have to choose which set of regrets you can live with the best, and try
to minimize the amount of regrets you have."

Nirvana – Verse Chorus Verse (Version 1) Lyrics 19 years ago
Kurt actually wanted to name In Utero "verse chorus verse" because he was sick of playing music of that style and was looking to change on the next album. He worked with this music for YEARS trying to get the right lyrics for it. YES it was a reject for Nevermind, but if you listen closely to Stay Away, you may hear the same guitar chords. Wrap your mind around this...listen to verse chorus verse Outtake from With the Lights Out and then listen to Aneurysm...do you hear it again? Same with Sappy. If you play guitar you will notice how close all these are, variations of the same song. Watch the unedited version of Unplugged, between Pennroyal Tea and Dumb (One of my personal favorites), you see Krist walk over and talk to Kurt. Kurt tells him "play them back to back it doesn't matter they'll edit it for TV anyway". He then turns to the audience and tells them that Krist was worried about playing them back to back because "they are the same song". Again, if you play guitar, he's right. It is only the way the chords are played that is different clean, distorted, acoustic, or speed in which played they still come down to the same thing. Kurt was famous for making the same song different. So what if the posted lyrics here don't match what some think they should be, they were different every time he tried to get that song the way he wanted it. Kurt always sang songs different when live anyway, that he keeps you guessing to this day is a tribute to his creativity and passion. Just appreciate it and quit arguing about it.
