| this song is clearlyt a letter home to his mother, he feels as though he hasnt lived up to the expectations of her, hence the "you're no good" is a term he applies to himself in line seemingly with what he beleived his mother thinks. A recurrent theme in elliotts work is the feeling of not living up to his parents (and other peoples) expectations adn not ebing the person he should be. This song says that though he is afraid through guilt to see her mother, he loves her anyhow, somewhat touching, is tragic | |

i dont beleive this song is anything to do with drugs, people are very quick to associate elliott with drugs and its knwon that he was into the harder stuff, but more so, he used drugs and addiction as metaphors and as something to compare relationships to. Its very easy to find drug refferenced (particularly in his sled titles) but as to whether or not they all reffer to drug use is unknown. I dont beleive this songs hints at drug abuse, just a realtionship still playing out after it was supposedly finished jay xo |
