Black Sabbath – N.I.B. Lyrics 19 years ago
"I don't think It's about the Devil in Love exactly. i think it's about the way he attracts people and how similar it is to a seducing lover. Nativity in Black as in being reborn in darkness, like an evil baptism kinda thing. Maybe it's just me. "

That hit the nail pretty much on the head IMO.

By the way whichever cretin said that Ozzy and Primus did the original for this needs to be shot. A) It's on Black Sabbaths first Album, B) Ozzy's solo career started after he left/was booted (whatever you want to believe) Sabbath, so how he could have written it before Sabbath I'm yet to work out. ]

The song title was based on Bill Wards 'nib' like beard. Nativity In Black was just what people managed to read into the title.

Black Sabbath – Megalomania Lyrics 19 years ago
I do recall hearing it was about Cocaine use some way back somewhere too.

This song is incredibly under rated. The Live version (Past Lives CD) is brilliant as well.

Bloody Tea it is 'Poor Little Fool now' you're right.

This is my favourite Black Sabbath song, it is about Heroin Use obviously, 'Push the needle in', but the band don't have actual experience with Heroin. Apparently, according to a quote I read from Ozzy somewhere, Cocaine was as far as it went for Black Sabbath. I also agree it is somewhat to do with a War Veteran, based on 'First it was the bomb, vietnam napalm'.

But in general the song meaning is pretty self-explanatory.

Black Sabbath – Fairies Wear Boots Lyrics 19 years ago
"the CORRECT meaning of this song is one night after a show, a couple skinheads (which were not nazies at the time, simply punks) beat the band up, so the band wrote a song about them! Also Prezuiwf was somewhat right. "

That's close to the exact meaning but actuall it wasn't the entire band that got beaten up, it was in fact only one of the band members. At the minute my memory fails me as to which one of them it was, but I'm leaning towards Geezer, if it wasn't Geezer then it was Tony, but it definitely wasn't Bill or Ozzy

El Moe, it can be found on the Sabotage album, at the end of the track 'The Writ' I believe.

Black Sabbath – Black Sabbath Lyrics 19 years ago
"Lol, good point - there are quite a few. There's this one, Hell's Bells by AC/DC, Hallowed Be Thy Name by Iron Maiden, and there was another one I can't remember at the moment..."

There's Metallica's 'For Whom The Bell Tolls' ;)

Secondly, Geezer was INTERESTED in Magic and such like, he never actually got seriously involved with it. Ozzy somehow got hold of a book about Black Magic and gave it to Geezer knowing he would be ineterested in it, later that night Geezer awoke to see a shadowy figure in front of him, which proceeded to vanish, he knew it had something to do with the book, ran to go and get it to throw it out, and discovered it wasn't there.

The next day he told Ozzy about it, Ozzy came back having written Black Sabbath (one of the few Black Sabbath songs actually written by Ozzy). The song is about someone discovering they are about to go to hell, which is probably how Geezer was feeling late that night lol. (With help from 'How black was our Sabbath' a book written by Black Sabbath crew members.

The Guitar Solo for this song isn't actually particularly impressive on my opinion, except for on the two live versions I own. (Reunion + Past Lives).
