Sad and powerful stuff...but in the end, what can you do, sometimes you just gotta say..Oh well. |

Musically this is what separates her from the rest, the surreal, sublime, hearing some of her work reminds me of a poem by Lawrence Ferlinghetti "Constantly risking absurdity" somehow she can walk that tightrope and find a balance..pulling off another highwire act of sheer brilliance. This
is a Fiona self confidence piece, in more ways than one. |

So hard to choose a favorite Fiona song, but if I had to, this may be the one..musically, lyrically, her vocal delivery...near perfection. "Yeah, I'll haunt the world inside you"...She's a special talent, and this song without a doubt, shows it. |

Incredible song, imo next to slow like honey(which is similar in style)her best. I love when she does it like this. A star crossed relationship? Yeah, but she knows..;) This is heart wrenching and sad yet somehow uplifting..amazing contrast of emotion. Fiona at her best. |

Another excellent stroke of brilliance by Fiona, love the song and for some reason this is my daughters favorite tune on the disc, guess it's the playful childlike melody. The lyrics add a stark contrast to the whole thing, making it soar into a surreal trip through the love/obsession rollercoaster. Just to respond to the question by KayBee..I'd say the "deep in dutch" line may have more to do with a figurative, metaphoric emotional sharing of love. That would keep with the whole opening being a comparison reference between economics and love..boom/bust. |
