Actually wasn't it "All for believing" that was her first song. That's how she got noticed, they played it on triple M or triple J I cant remember which one it was. Scar was her first single. |

| Jack Johnson – Let It Be Sung Lyrics

For me it means that even though times get tough there is always one thing that you can cling to , to pull you through the bad times. In this instance it is music, but it could be a loved one, a dream, anything. I love this song, but I love EVERY Jack Johnson song.
"You gotta touch the bottom before you can come back up" I love this line. It's so true... sometimes things spiral so out of control that the only way to make it is to hit rock bottom and then build everything back up again better than it was before. Learn from your mistakes but find that something or someone that will help you through your troubles. |

I am soo extremely fortunate to still have my father, although one of my best- friends lost hers yesterday. This song is absolutely killing me right now but I can't seem to turn it off. I was there today with her and her mother and they were both devastated and my heart is breaking for them right now. This song is just beautiful. It's not OTT but is simply stating how much he loved his father. I love it. |

he is saying that although he is not a wordly person and he doesn't know much about anything, the one thing he knows is that he loves this person and at the end of the day that's all that matters. It beautiful in its simplicity. |

I love this song. It's one of my all time favourites. Jack said in an interview that the song was actually about divorce. Before anyone freaks out, it has NOTHING to do with HIS marriage. But when they asked him to do songs for Curious George they needed one about divorce....and well, here it is! |

| Otis Redding – (Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay Lyrics

OMG I love this song.
It reminds me of the scene in Top Gun where Tom Cruise's character is saying how his parents used to listen to the song together and when his father died, the mother locked herself up in the attic listening to this song on repeat. I guess her feelings reflected the song. She was lonely, depressed, had nothing to live for etc.
For such a depressing song, it calms the hell out of me!! I think it's his voice and the easy beats. AWESOME |

I loooove this song. I believe that it is not necessarily about her sexuality but more about the relationships we have with everyone in our lives. Trying to be something we are not. Trying to fit into moulds that are not the right shape for us. Changing ourselves to make others happy or to fit in and be accepted.
And realising that when we do this we are losing ourselves and our individuality and "did you think we'd all dream the same??"
I can see the whole point of being a musician and the image of being more mainstream to sell more records. It totally makes sense. She is saying that along came these record execs trying to turn her into something she wasn't. Luckily she got out in time and went away to try and find herself, and even though it was hard to find herself, she eventually came back and did things her way. |

OMG I absolutely adore this song!!! It's about his wife and when they met in college. I read somewhere that the tree he is talking about was their little hideaway place and years later it burnt down and now to look at a picture of that tree makes him sad cos there were soooo many beautiful memories there. Such a beautiful love song. I know there a lot of analysing of this song but it's pretty straightforward, he is reminiscing about the days when he and Kim first got together and thinking over what a great life they have had together!! AWESOME |
